๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’š BIG FEELINGS, BIG LEARNING! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ญ

Last week at Rancho Brazos Community Centers, our kids spent the week learning all about feelings and emotionsโ€”and, most importantly, learning that every feeling is okay to have. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Throughout the week, we talked about different emotions, how they can make us feel, and even where we might feel those emotions in our bodies. From butterflies in our stomachs to a racing heart when weโ€™re nervous, our kids learned that emotions can show up differently for everyone. ๐Ÿง โค๏ธ

We wrapped up our week with a fun round of FEELING CHARADES! ๐ŸŽญ

Each child had 12 different emotion cards to choose from and took turns acting out their emotion without saying the word. Their friends then had to use their whiteboards to guess the emotion! โœ๏ธ

And, of course, we had to add a little extra excitement! ๐ŸŽโœจ
Every correct guess earned the opportunity to pick a prize from our Prize Tables!

We want to give a HUGE thank you to Ms. Shera for her incredibly generous donations toward our program incentives! ๐Ÿ’• Your generosity gives our kids something exciting to look forward to while celebrating their hard work, participation, and accomplishments.

Watching our kids carefully search through the prize table to find that perfect prize they earned is always one of our favorite parts! ๐Ÿฅน๐ŸŽ

But beyond the games and prizes, our hope is that our kids walked away with an important lesson:

๐ŸŒˆ Itโ€™s okay to feel happy.
๐ŸŒง๏ธ Itโ€™s okay to feel sad.
๐Ÿ˜ก Itโ€™s okay to feel angry.
๐Ÿ˜จ Itโ€™s okay to feel scared.
๐Ÿ’š And itโ€™s okay when someone else experiences those same emotions differently than you do.

Our feelings donโ€™t make us โ€œbadโ€ they give us information about whatโ€™s happening inside of us. Learning how to recognize, understand, and express those feelings is a skill our children can carry with them for years to come. ๐Ÿซถ

We hope this week gave our kids the tools to better understand themselves, show themselves grace, and extend that same kindness to others.

Parents, we encourage you to keep the conversation going at home! ๐Ÿ’š Ask your child what emotions they experienced today, where they felt those emotions in their body, and remind them that there is no โ€œwrongโ€ feeling. Sometimes, simply giving our children a safe space to talk about what theyโ€™re feeling can make a world of difference.

โœจ Tonight, ask your child: โ€œWhat was one feeling you had today, and where did you feel it in your body?โ€ You might be surprised by the conversation that follows!

Because raising emotionally healthy kids starts with letting them know: โ€œYour feelings matter, and you are allowed to feel them.โ€ ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒฑ Turning a Vision Into Education for Generations to Come! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ง

We are incredibly grateful to Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District for investing in the mission of Rancho Brazos Community Centers and helping make our Rainwater Harvesting System a reality! ๐Ÿคฉ

And today, another exciting piece of that vision was completed! We now have a beautiful educational sign highlighting our Rainwater Harvesting System, giving our children, families, and community a visual way to learn about water conservation and the importance of protecting our natural resources. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŽ

This system allows us to collect and reuse rainwater to help support the many things that grow and thrive here at Rancho. From our gardens, plants, and trees to our chickens and other natural resources. ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’ฆ

What makes this project so special is that it doesnโ€™t just provide a resource. it provides an opportunity to teach. Our kiddos will be able to see firsthand how rainwater can be captured, conserved, and put back to work right here in their own community.

A huge THANK YOU to Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District for helping execute this vision, investing in conservation education, and becoming such an important part of Ranchoโ€™s future. Your support is creating something our children and families will be able to learn from for years to come! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’ง

We are so excited to continue growing, learning, and finding new ways to be good stewards of the resources around us. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐Ÿ’™ A Heartfelt Thank You & Farewell to One of Ranchoโ€™s Own , Damon Sprang ๐Ÿ’™

Some goodbyes are harder than others, and this one is especially bittersweet.

Damonโ€™s story with Rancho Brazos Community Centers is one that means so much to us. He first walked through our doors as a teenager with a backpack on his shoulders, growing, learning, and finding his place within the Rancho family. Today, we have the privilege of watching him walk into his next chapter as a devoted husband, a loving father of three, and an incredible young man with so much ahead of him.

Over the years, Damon has given Rancho far more than just his time. He has given us his hard work, loyalty, dedication, compassion, laughter, and heart. He has poured into our children, supported our families, stepped up when he was needed, and became someone our team could always count on.

He didnโ€™t simply work at Rancho. He grew up with Rancho, and Rancho grew because of him.

We have had the honor of watching Damon become the man he is today, and saying we are proud of him simply doesnโ€™t feel like enough. The lives he has touched, the relationships he has built, and the memories he has made here will remain a part of Rancho long after his last day.

Damon, THANK YOU. ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you for every long day.
Thank you for every child you encouraged.
Thank you for every family you helped.
Thank you for every time you stepped in without being asked.
Thank you for believing in what Rancho stands for.
Thank you for growing alongside us.
And most of all, thank you for allowing us to be part of your story.

While we are sad to see you go, we could not be more excited to watch you begin this new adventure in sales at Willis & Co. RV. We know the same work ethic, personality, heart, and determination you have shown at Rancho will follow you wherever life takes you.

This isnโ€™t really goodbye. Once you are Rancho family, you are always Rancho family. Our doors will always be open, there will always be a place for you here, and we will always be cheering you on.

Please join us as we celebrate Damon and send him into this next chapter surrounded by the people who have watched his journey and love him dearly.

Damon, from all of us at Rancho Brazos Community Centers: we love you, we appreciate you, we are incredibly proud of you, and we cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes you.

Thank you for everything. ๐Ÿ’™
