The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) has provided a unified voice for truckers everywhere since 1973, creating a solid support network within a unique industry-specific community. We are grateful that OOIDA utilizes this unified voice to amplify support and future advocacy of VCP’s mission. Today, we are extending a special thank you to this team for presenting us with a generous monetary donation made possible through their Truckers for Troops Program and for hand delivering over 75 pre-assembled hygiene kits– ready for immediate use within our onsite Outreach Center Pantry. THANK YOU for recognizing that when our Veteran support team’s impact rapidly grows, so does our need for funding and resources. It takes a community to build a Village.

Thanks to Veterans Community Project for everything they do!

Happy Cone Removal Day, Petey!

Just two weeks ago, poor Petey was suffering from a serious eye injury. Thankfully, our Veterinarian angels from Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Pet Resort happened to be onsite for their monthly Village clinic day. Not only did they examine and aid Petey right on the spot, they chauffeured Petey back to their hospital as his Veteran does not drive.

As you can see, Petey's successful surgery has given him a new LEASH on life!

Petey's story is another testimony to the power of COMMUNITY! Because of our sponsors (Truckers for Troops, Seaboard, Smithfield, and KC Wine Co. Vineyard & Winery) and donors and Volunteers who helped raise funds at this year's Battle Buddies' event, VCP of KC is prepared for situations just like this one!

We are so grateful to our partners at Blue Springs for their loving care of Petey and ALL of our Veterans' pets! As one resident stated, "Those vets go above and beyond the call of duty for us!" Hmmmm...Vets helping Vets! Love it!
