🟣🟡 Congratulations to Delta Lambda Lambda chartering brother Alex Dawson III (ΜΨ '86) on his appointment to the Alamance County District Attorney's Office!

Brother Dawson brings over 32 years of criminal law experience — including 15 years as a prosecutor — and has spent recent years handling serious felony cases in Guilford County.

Alamance County is better because of this appointment, and the community is well-served by his expertise. We are proud to call him a friend and a Brother! 💜💛

Today, the brothers of Delta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., TQ - Tau Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Delta Xi Nu Chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., along with the Piedmont Triad Lamplighters, gathered at the historic marker of Bro. Dr. Charles Richard Drew to commemorate his extraordinary legacy and memorialize the untimely passing of our departed brother.

Dr. Drew's groundbreaking contributions to blood banking and transfusion medicine changed the course of medicine and saved countless lives. His life embodied the very principles we hold dear: manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift at the highest level.

How good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity, and today was a beautiful reminder of just that. With brothers spanning from the 1970s through Spring 2026 in attendance, we were honored to gather across generations, laying a wreath, reflecting on his sacrifice, and renewing our commitment to carry his legacy forward. A special thank you to all who came out to make this pilgrimage a powerful moment of remembrance and fellowship.

The Delta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. was proud to participate in the 100 Days, 100 Dads event at Hillcrest Elementary on February 20th! 🎉

This special initiative celebrates the presence and impact of fathers and father figures in the lives of students, and we were honored to show up and be counted. At DLL, investing in our community, especially young people, is always a priority.

Thank you to Hillcrest Elementary for having us and for creating a space that affirms the importance of family and community involvement in education. Events like these remind us of the powerful role that positive male presence plays in the lives of our children, and we are committed to showing up, being visible, and making a difference. We look forward to continuing to serve! 💜🟡

What an honor it was today for brothers of Delta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. to share a meal with the legendary Ret. USAF Col. Norman McDaniel (Mu Psi '57)! 🟣🟡

Brother McDaniel, a decorated Vietnam POW and powerful motivational speaker, embodies the very spirit of resilience, courage, and perseverance that we as Omega Men strive to exemplify. His story surviving as a POW for 7 years is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, and we are deeply grateful for the wisdom and inspiration he poured into us today.

Thank you, Brother McDaniel, for your service to this country and your continued service to the uplift of our community. We are better men for having sat at the table with you.

We are incredibly proud to also recognize Brother Larry Brown, Jr. as a member of our own Delta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., initiated Spring 2010. Brother Brown made history not once, but twice — first as Alamance County's first Black district judge appointed in 2017, and again in 2020 when he won his election to the seat, becoming the first Black person ever elected to that office in Alamance County, a role he continues to serve in today. His legacy is a powerful example of the excellence, perseverance, and commitment to community that defines the men of Omega Psi Phi. We celebrate you, Brother Brown! 🟣🟡

Today’s black history fact: Larry Brown, Jr born in Henderson, NC and raised in Baltimore , Maryland was appointed Alamance County’s district judge in 2017 making him the first black judge in Alamance County NC.

Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and remember that even giants stand on the shoulders of giants.

Dr. King stood on the shoulders of Omega men like Dr. Benjamin Mays, his mentor at Morehouse College, who shaped his understanding of dignity, respect, and the power of using historical context in activism. He stood on the shoulders of Bayard Rustin, another Omega brother, who deepened his commitment to Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolent disobedience—transforming King's academic understanding into the practical force that would define the movement. Brother Rustin also helped orchestrate pivotal moments like the March on Washington.

These Omega Psi Phi brothers helped forge the leader who would change our nation.

Today, we stand on Dr. King's shoulders—and the shoulders of Brothers Mays and Rustin—as we continue the work of justice, equality, and service. Their legacy reminds us that leadership is built on mentorship, wisdom is passed from generation to generation, and the struggle for freedom is a collective journey.

The question is not just what they did, but what we will do with the foundation they built.
