I worked on a few beds today before the next few days of rain
followed by some nice weather for Mothers Day. The apple trees were in gorgeous bloom

The community garden has beds available to plant. 4 ft by 10 ft with more than 8 hours of sun per day and a nice breeze. The garden is located just off Meridian at the top of Graham Hill to the West of Evergreen Church on the Hill. Reply to this post or Contact

There are 8 weeks until the possible safe planting of seedlings and seeds. So the time is fast approaching of "digging in the dirt."
I need to know which beds our returning gardeners will be needing. We then can welcome any new gardeners.

Finally picked big red Brandywine tomatoes
from the food bank beds.

I'll be placing a sign-up for volunteer watering should weather start to heat up.
I think it will and folks will be traveling and may need help for their beds to water while gone. Thanks Leah for laminating the signs for me. Look for them on the garden shed.
Big thanks to Gary for the new garden gate and volunteer Gavin for doing some weeding and watering.
I read that it is not to late to start seeds for pumpkin and squash.

Garden Clean Up Party

Bring your gloves and tools and help clean up our beds for the planting. We will have four beds and a herb bed for the Food Pantry giving to clean and plant plus your own beds. Refreshments will be provided and best gardening techniques shared,

We will not be a pickup site for free seedlings this year. Received news from Pierce County Harvest that Mother Earth Farms is taking a different path this year. We so appreciate their support for gardeners in the past several years. But Ever Green C. G. will have beds available for you to plant seeds of your own or plants from other sources.
