Cedar Point’s Witches Wheel felt right at home during Halloweekends!

It was a standard HUSS enterprise and was identical to Silver Bullet at Geauga Lake. Upon its closure it was the only non-roller coaster at Cedar Point that flipped riders upside down!

Something we get asked about more than anything in our collection is the “weird light sphere.” This sphere is from the spire that was on top of the Chippewa Lake Wild Mouse lift hill which first operated at Geauga Lake.

B.A. Schiff Wild Mouse coasters were equipped with some unique decorative items including entrances/ exits as well as arched lights for the station, lift hill, and brake run. The main Wild Mouse sign spanned between two towers that were installed on the back corners of the ride. Riders would travel through the towers, but in front of the sign.

The Pirate Ride at Cedar Point was a fan favorite at the park for 30 years, from 1966-1996. It is still one of the most talked about rides at our events when people tell stories of their childhood!

The ride system was built by Arrow Dynamics for Freedomland in New York. It originally opened there in 1960 and opened as Buccaneer. It was sold to Cedar Point and was renamed Pirate Ride upon its reopening!

There are still some props left at Cedar Point in the Cutthroat Cove haunted trail as well as a replica pirate ship of the one that once stood out front of the ride that serves as the entrance of the attraction.

Tomorrow October 4th we will be at the Woollybear Festival in Vermillion Ohio from 9am-5pm. Stop by and take a picture in a car from the first double looping coaster ever built!

Double Loop was Geauga Lake’s first inverting roller coaster and was the ride that introduced many Ohioans to going upside down on a roller coaster!

Visit us this Sunday at the Woolybear Festival between 9am and 5pm. We will have a special collectible event coaster car!

There are also some new coaster snakes that will be available! Please stop in and say hi, like most events we do, the festival is free to attend so bring the family and we look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday as there are many other things to do as well!

PS, the old Vermillion Crystal Beach Tumble Bug footer/ park tribute is just a walk up the road!
