MORE GREAT NEWS!! We have a FOURTH pair of nesting American kestrels this season, which I found in a box I have been maintaining for 11 previous seasons, with no luck, until Saturday's nest box check. She flew out of the box as I opened the door and I found these 2 eggs inside. Kestrels typically lay between 4-5 eggs, so she is a still actively laying, one egg every 1–2 days. That makes 16 incubating little falcons in Grafton this year, and that number will likely grow to 18–19 very soon! - Troy Gipps, Kestrel Project Leader

Belated photos from our Warbler Walk earlier this month with local bird expert Katie Zhang. I believe the total bird species count was 29, including a very rare sighting of a Tennessee Warbler!
We also used the scope to spy on baby geese around Fletcher Island. Katie is a walking bird call encyclopedia; we are grateful to have such local talent offer their skills to learn more about nature right in our backyard. 🐦
