Last on our check delivery tour was Buffalo Park Community Development for their exciting park upgrades project!

We are honored to award them a $1,000 grant to help bring these improvements to life for the community. From fresh gravel under the swings to a brand new sand volleyball setup, these updates will create even more opportunities for families, kids, and friends to gather, play, and enjoy the park all summer long.

It’s always inspiring to see communities investing in spaces that bring people together, and we can’t wait to watch this project take shape in Park!

A lot of people think giving has to be a big, complicated decision.
It’s really not.
Some people give $50.
Some give $500.
Some give over time.
Some give later.
There’s no “right” way to do it.
There’s just…choosing to be part of something.

One thing we’ve noticed as a board about Gove County…

People here tend to be pretty humble.

The ones who give don’t usually talk about it.
They’re not looking for recognition.

They just see something that matters—and quietly become part of it.

This place matters to them and that’s reason enough.

Next stop: the Depot! 🚂

We took a pit stop at the Depot in Quinter to deliver a $1,000 grant check to Dwight and QCD to help support ongoing renovations of this historic space. What was once a quiet landmark is steadily being transformed into a vibrant gathering place where the community can host educational activities, rent for events, and create new memories within a piece of local history.

There’s something special about breathing life back into old buildings. Every repaired wall and restored corner helps preserve the stories of our community while creating space for future generations to gather, learn, and connect. We’re proud to help keep the Depot moving full steam ahead!

Next on our check delivery tour is the Friends of Moore Family Library! 📚✨

These awesome ladies are a brand-new nonprofit organization with a big heart for their little library and a vision to keep it thriving for generations to come. Their HVAC system was original to the building and had reached the point where it was no longer working properly, making it difficult to host story hours and community activities during the hot summers and cold winters.

Now, it’s time for new! We are so proud to award them a $3,000 grant toward a new HVAC system so the library can continue being a welcoming place for the community year-round.

Small-town libraries are more than shelves of books. They are gathering places, imagination stations, and quiet little anchors in our communities. We’re honored to help support this project! ❤️

Next up on our check delivery tour is GP3 and their Main Street “Bloom” Project! 🌿🌸

We are proud to award GP3 a $2,000 grant to help transform this lot into a beautiful, welcoming space for the community. Their vision includes florals, greenery, seating areas, and most importantly, a brand new sidewalk that will help bring new life and energy back to Main Street.

Pictured are GP3 members standing on the very lot they plan to revitalize, soon to become a vibrant gathering place full of color, conversation, and community spirit. 🌼🪴

Projects like this remind us that even small spaces can spark big change. We cannot wait to watch the “Bloom” Project come to life!

Next on our check delivery tour is Quinter Community Development and Little Sprouts Daycare!

We are proud to award them a $2,800 grant to update the daycare flooring and create a safer space for the kids. Concrete floors and little tumbles are not the best combination, so they upgraded the space with beautiful faux wood foam tiles!

The transformation looks wonderful, and the best part was seeing the kids already loving the new space when we stopped by to deliver the check. Projects like this may seem simple, but they make a huge difference in the comfort and safety of our youngest community members.

Real question…

What’s something small (or big) you’d love to see in our communities?

Not a perfect answer. Not a fully funded plan.

Just something that would make this place even better.

Sometimes it starts with a simple ask.

The project this time was the Quinter Grade School playground—equipment that had served its time and was ready to be replaced.

It wasn’t anything extravagant. Just a need, recognized by people who care about the kids who use it every day.

That conversation turned into action.

What was once worn and outdated is becoming a space built for play, connection, and a lot of energy for years to come.

It’s the kind of thing people don’t always see as it’s happening.

It’s not always big plans or headline projects.
It’s people who care enough to ask…
and a community willing to meet them there.

And when that happens, things start to take shape.

That’s what we help make possible.

It has been a busy week delivering checks to all our incredible grant recipients! 💚

First up is the Jay Johnson Public Library in Quinter! We were honored to award them a $5,000 grant for new computers for guests and updated front desk computers to better serve the community.

At the Gove County Community Foundation, we believe libraries are more than bookshelves and buildings. They are community anchors, learning hubs, and places where people of all ages can connect, grow, and thrive. 📚✨

People always ask us what we do with the funds raised during Match Month… THIS is what we do with your donations. We fund the GOOD. We invest in projects that strengthen our communities and create lasting impact across Gove County.

Thank you to everyone who gives, supports, and believes in the future of rural Kansas!
