Recent dreary weather couldn't put a damper on the color display... the foliage was on fire along Ash and Mash Creeks in SGL 135! Our watershed is such a special place, and we're here to advocate for it every step of the way. (Fun fact- did you know that North Pocono CARE was key in restoring the riparian buffer and replanting native trees along Ash Creek when the power lines went in?)

🚨 HELP! Volunteers needed Saturday, October 24th!

We've got a native pollinator garden to plant at the new riverfront park in Thornhurst, PA this fall, and we still short some helping hands! We're hosting a family-friendly volunteer garden day on Saturday 10/24 from 12-3pm, where volunteers will plant hundreds of native flower starts, some native shrubs and trees, and help w**d and spread mulch to keep the new plants happy and thriving. Thank you to everyone who came out for our Animal Adaptations event with The Wilderz at Pocono Wildlife of Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center at the Thornhurst Fire House! From turtles, to opossums, owls and more, it was an awesome afternoon of learning about our watershed's native wildlife.

⏰ 3 great events are coming up quick and we hope to see you there!
🦅 Monday, October 12th- Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center is bringing their ambassador animals for a fun, kid-friendly showcase of native raptors, small animals, amphibians and reptiles!
🌱 Wednesday, October 21st- Join us in supporting PennFuture at their Legal Environmental Advocacy Fund soiree, complete with great food, drinks, raffle prizes and a silent auction!
🌼 Saturday, October 24th- WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! We'll be planting native plants, shrubs and trees at the new Thornhurst Riverfront Park. It will be fun, productive afternoon of improving our local environment!

Hope to see Thornhurst residents and neighbors at this hearing! No data centers are proposed yet within Thornhurst Township (that we are aware of) so this is a great opportunity to get proactive zoning and ordinances on the books before data center development becomes a threat!
