Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve is a 170-acre scenic family-friendly destination that offers a peaceful and relaxing getaway. It is a uniquely beautiful and inviting setting that offers a peaceful and relaxing getaway. It is open 365-days a year from dawn to dusk. There's not an admission fee and as a public charity, the nature preserve is visitor-supported and funded through donations and grants, a

nd other sources. With environmental educational events offered every month, educational field trips, and summer camps, there is something for everyone! The preserve supports the community library and also offers the City of Goshen playground.

Join terrarium expert, Deirdre Barnett, to create a terrarium, also known as a mini garden! Or, if you have a terrarium that needs some help, bring it to have it revived — cleaned, plants trimmed or replaced, or add decorative elements. If you have a favorite glass container you’d like to turn into a terrarium, bring it with you! You will learn how to build a terrarium from scratch or bring one back to life, along with tips and tricks to care for your small plants. We will provide fresh plants and supplies for your terrarium, and for those who want to create a new one, we will have a donated assortment of glass containers. Additional embellishments will be available during the class for an extra donation.

Tomorrow (6/15), only our main entrance will be open as they work to finish up. The additional parking near the Forest Friends Playground will be closed, so please plan to use the main entrance parking lot to access the preserve.

Eastern box turtles are on the move! 🐢 These slow-moving creatures are crossing roads to find mates, nesting sites, and food. If you spot one, slow down. If it’s safe to stop, you can help by moving it in the direction it was already heading. Never relocate a turtle far from where you found it. They have a small home range and will spend their lives trying to get back.
