One thing we Heartland Cloggers love about clogging are the friendships we make across the miles or the relationships that form over a pair of jingly tap shoes, tired legs and sore feet. This hobby of clogging for fun has turned into community for many of us. Many of us love attending workshops. Workshops are usually a good day's drive away from home. You spend the weekend dancing, learning new steps, dances, buying gear and making new friends. And, then, you come home eager to share what you've leaned with your local clogging friends. Thursday evening, during our show at Essenhaus Cruise In, we had the honor of inviting a special guest up to dance with us. JP Simkus has been a friend to our group for more years than I can remember. I am sure all of us here at Heartland Cloggers first met JP at a workshop. This author first met him at Keith King's Bald Man Clogging Workshop. He loves clogging, teaching clogging and runs his own clogging group called Good Time Cloggers. Thursday, he ventured over to see our show so, naturally, we pulled him on stage. In this post, we are doing a song JP choreographed called "Know It All" written by famed Michigander Billy Strings. JP is the dancer to the right in this video. Thank you JP for letting us use your choreography for our 2026 season and for blessing us by dancing it with us. It was so much fun! Let's do it again sometime!

Car cruise season is upon us! And guess what? So is clogging season! Come enjoy both, tonight, May 28th, at Essenhaus in Middlebury. We dance at 6:30. Bring your lawn chair and bring your smiles! We've got some new moves. You don't want to miss it!

Did you know that we clog for private events? We do! And these events are so much fun!! Here we are clogging for the residents of The Living Wisdom Center at Hubbard Hill in Elkhart. What a beautiful facility! What beautiful residents and staff! Here we are dancing to the "Clogger's National Anthem"-a song called Rocky Top.

We had a wonderful afternoon clogging for the awesome crowd at Shipshewana Mayfest. Shipshewana knows how to bring the crowds in! We enjoyed every moment of our afternoon in town! Let's do it again next year, shall we?

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Worried about the cooler weather on a spring May Saturday morning? We've got a solution to that! We'll be heating up the tent at Shipshewana Mayfest!! Come see us under the entertainment tent on the corner of Morton & Main streets. We take the stage at 12:30. There is plenty of seating. Shipshewana is a great place to hang this weekend!

Well, we put on our dance shoes for the first Time this season in Wakarusa at the Museum Complex during the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival. Such a fun time and awesome crowd! Here, we are dancing to one of our old time bluegrass gospel favorites, I See The Light!

CORRECTION UPDATE FOR OUR PERFORMANCE SATURDAY: The most recent flyers for the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival show that we are dancing at 2;30 Saturday instead of the aforementioned time of 3pm. Our stage will be in the area of the Museum. Come see us for our inaugural show of the 2026 dance season!
