We did one of our favorite things last weekend! We attended a clogging workshop in Lebanon, IN. Workshops are a lot of fun, and ,a bit of a break from our routine weekly practices and performances. When a clogger goes to a workshop, they get to spend day full of learning new dances. Each hour a different instructor stands up on a stage and shows us new steps to a new song. We also participate in what are called "Fun Dances". This is a period of time where everyone gets on the floor and just dances to songs that every clogger seems to know. And some of us know different versions of those fun dances, but we still get out there and showcase our versions. Exhibitions also occur at workshops. This is where a clogging group or individual will take the stage and show something they've choreographed themselves, or a old traditional dance, just to show everyone what we've been up to. Lastly, we love connecting with cloggers we've met over the years and catch up on what's new in their lives. Clogging is a community! Clogging is family! Here is a video of us performing to an old partner dance called Old Dan Tucker. We were short one dancer so we twisted Emily's arm and asked her to fill in for us, short notice. she did great!
