⛳️💙 What a day on the course!

Yesterday, Maplecrest Country Club looked a little different as golfers took on our Ryan’s Place Charity Golf Invitational, playing the course in reverse! There may have been a few unexpected turns along the way, but one thing was certain: everyone came together for a meaningful reason.

Every swing, every team, and every act of generosity made a difference.

We are incredibly grateful to our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this unique event such a success. Your support helps Ryan’s Place continue providing free grief support services to children, teens, and families following the death of a loved one.

A special shout-out to Carl and his crew at Maplecrest Country Club for all their hard work in making the day possible AND to our Presenting Sponsors NIBCO INC & Four Winds Casinos

Thank you for showing up for our mission, for our kids, and for our families. Because of you, we can continue reminding those who are grieving that they don’t have to do it alone. 💙

đź’š A meal can be about so much more than food.

A heartfelt shout-out to Team Genesis Products for volunteering their time to serve dinner to our families on two different group nights at Ryan’s Place!

When families are navigating the death of someone they love, sharing a meal offers an opportunity to slow down, connect with others, and find comfort in simply being together. Sometimes, it’s the small moments around a table that remind us we don’t have to walk our grief journey alone.

Thank you, Team Genesis, for giving your time and care to our families and helping create space for connection and community. We are grateful for partners like you who help make Ryan’s Place a home for healing hearts. 💚

Would you or your organization like to prepare or serve a meal for our families? We would love to hear from you! Reach out to Ryan’s Place to learn how you can get involved and make a difference.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with community partners who work every day to support children and families throughout our region.

Geminus Community Partners helps strengthen families through in-home support, family resources, and services that promote child safety and family well-being. By sharing knowledge about grief and the impact of the death of a loved one, we can help ensure that more children and families receive the understanding and support they need.

Thank you, Geminus Community Partners, for the important work you do and for taking the time to learn more about supporting grieving children and families. Together, we can help ensure no one has to grieve alone. đź’™

A Gift Honoring a Special Mentorship ❤️

Some gifts carry a story that deserves to be shared.

This beautiful painting was created and donated by Carrie Beachey of Art by CarrieJoy in honor of Aileac Deegan, who mentored Carrie’s son, Jacob, for nearly 18 months prior to her retirement from Ryan’s Place.

Wanting to honor the impact Aileac had on his life, Jacob asked that the painting be gifted to Ryan’s Place and displayed in our Teen Room, where it can continue to inspire and encourage young people for years to come.

The artwork is rich with symbolism. The cardinal is often seen as a messenger from loved ones who have died and a symbol of resilience through difficult seasons. The forget-me-not flowers represent remembrance and the enduring connections we carry in our hearts. The black, gray, and blue background reflects the ups and downs of grief…how one day can feel bright and hopeful while the next may feel dark and cloudy.

The quote featured in the painting beautifully captures the spirit of mentorship and friendship:

“A friend is someone who can sit with us when we are sad, stay with us when we are angry, and not judge us. That is a friend who cares.”

We are grateful to Carrie for sharing her artistic talent and to Jacob for choosing Ryan’s Place as the home for this meaningful gift. We are honored to display it in our Teen Room, where Aileac’s legacy of compassion, connection, and caring will continue to touch lives for years to come.

Thank you to Goshen Elks Lodge #798 for their generous $700 donation to Ryan’s Place.

We are grateful to Marty Juel for reaching out and helping make this gift possible. The Elks’ commitment to charity, community, and caring for others reflects the same spirit of compassion that guides our work every day.

Because of support from organizations like the Elks, children, teens, and families grieving the death of a loved one can receive the support they need at no cost. Your generosity helps us continue to provide a home for healing hearts and reminds families that they do not have to grieve alone.

Thank you for your partnership and for living out the belief that “Elks Care and Elks Share.”
