First Light Mission First Light Mission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing resources and shelter for people in crisis.

Guests that are homeless enter the program for a 30 day period. Every 30 days they receive a review, and as long as they are making progress in obtaining employment and/or secure housing, they may submit a written request to extend their stay. The key requirement is for us to see our guests working on the root of the problem that brought them to us in the first place.

What an incredible evening at our 31st Annual “A Place at the Table” fundraiser!

As I reflect on last night, I am reminded once again just how blessed First Light Mission is to be surrounded by a community that truly cares.

To our community, donors, sponsors, and everyone who attended,THANK YOU! Your generosity, encouragement, and continued belief in our mission mean more than words can express. You are the reason we can continue opening our doors and offering hope, dignity, and fresh starts to families facing some of life's hardest moments.

To our Board of Directors, thank you for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to First Light Mission. Your belief in what we do and the people we serve never goes unnoticed.

To our amazing staff, I cannot thank you enough. You pour your hearts into this mission every single day. You see the struggles, celebrate the victories, wipe away tears, and remind our guests that they matter. I am incredibly proud to serve alongside each of you.

To our Heart of Compassion Recipients, thank you for making Elkhart County a better place. The Fix Salon -Julene Joy, GPD Patrolman Jon McKalips and Andy Murray.

To Rickardo Yoder, thank you for being a great MC and making the night. To Melanie Quinn thank you for overcoming so much and speaking with me last night.

And to Point and Click (Ron Miller) for providing such great music!

After 16 years at First Light Mission, one thing I know for certain is that this mission has never been about one person. It takes an entire community willing to love people right where they are.

Last night wasn't just about raising funds. It was about coming together, sharing stories, restoring hope, and remembering that EVERYONE deserves a place at the table.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in First Light Mission and the families we are blessed to serve.

Because of YOU, First Light Mission continues to be a Place of Refuge and Fresh Starts.

She remembered a small act of kindness from Mindy years ago, and so this morning for her birthday she said she wanted to bless us and other organizations.
