This lively chorus welcomes vocalists of all levels (ages 12 to 80+ currently) and abilities, who come together to perform a variety of choral music from Bach to Broadway. You’ll grow as a singer with professional direction and make a new family of friends! Our fall session includes a performance at Gorham House and our main concert on Sunday, December 3 at Gorham High School. We rehearse Monday e

venings 7:00-9:00pm (no rehearsals on holidays or school vacations) at Village School. Please register and pay at our first rehearsal on September 11, 6:45pm – do not send fee to Gorham Adult Education. Calling all singers aged 14 – 25!

The Downeasters Chorus invites you to an exciting new opportunity to connect, perform, and experience the magic of barbershop harmony. Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or just love to sing, this free workshop is designed to help you find your voice in harmony with others.

Led by Jonas Rimkunas , Voice Instructor at the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine and the Downeasters Chorus Vocal Development Leader, each session will explore a ca****la techniques, performance skills, and the uniquely powerful sound of barbershop.

Sessions will be held on select Saturdays at the brand new Crewe Center on USM's Portland Campus:

We are just a few weeks away from our first rehearsal of the year, and I have been working hard to put together a fun program.

Love to sing?
Come sing with us - no audition necessary! This lively chorus welcomes vocalists of all levels and abilities, who come together to perform a variety of choral literature. Past performances include masterworks by Mozart, Haydn and Faure, as well as contemporary choral works and Broadway show-tunes. You’ll grow as a singer with professional direction and make a new family of friends!
We will be accepting new singers for our Fall 2025 season starting September 8. Rehearsals are Mondays (except during school vacations and holidays!) 7-9PM at Village School in Gorham. Our Fall concerts will be Dec. 10, 6:30 pm for the residents of Gorham House, Dec. 14, 3:00 pm at Gorham High School with the GHS Chamber Singers, and as part of the Gorham New Year Celebration on Dec. 31 (time TBA).

Director John Rimkunas has a MM in Choral Conducting from UMaine, and has taught in local schools for 35 years.
