We are a scholarship fund in the name of Stephen Ward of Gorham, Maine, who lost his life in the attacks on America on September 11th, 2001. He held a Masters Degree in accounting with a concentration in financial planning and worked as a CPA for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 101st floor of the North tower of the World Trade Center. His loss still resonates for those who knew and loved him (because, re
ally, to know him WAS to love him). He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend who was connected to his world in so many ways and who will be missed by so many people. In an effort to bring some good out of the tragedy of September 11th, Stephen's family and friends established the Stephen G. Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund. Currently, the fund contributes each year to the post secondary education of a student at Gorham High School. We will gather each year on or near the anniversary of the attacks on America, for the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Kids' Fun Run. We will run and walk this 3.1 mile road certified course in Gorham in Steve's memory and to honor all those lost on that tragic day. There will be a kids fun run, family festivities, good food and good friends. Please join us. Run, contribute, volunteer, or sponsor the race. Every bit of help will bring us a little closer to our goal of helping Maine's brightest get to college. Register at: www.running4free.com WILL you NEVER FORGET?
