Last night, Foundation Board Member, Grants Chair, and State Trooper Sgt Garrett Rella took our Board Chair Redza Dempster on a ride along throughout Coos County to learn more about law enforcement in the North Country. Plenty of lessons will be shared in the coming weeks, but will say this now: there’s lots of proactive- and reactive-activity most of us don’t know about that lets us all sleep safe and sound each night. We are grateful for all these professionals.

Studies have shown that a community greatly benefits when first responders live in the communities they serve. Hope we all remember that when the issue of affordable housing comes up.

Thank you Sgt Rella for all that you do in and out of uniform. We are proud to call you neighbor and friend.

Foundation Board members past and present (plus some of their spouses and one of Randolph’s youngest residents) participated in the second annual SSG Tanner Grone Memorial 5K in Gorham on a bright sunny day. They even got to run alongside Governor Kelly Ayotte.

The special race/fun run/walk is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of SSG Tanner Grone, a beloved local community member who enjoyed bringing people together and having fun. raising funds to support a Gorham and Berlin High School Senior who shares values close to his heart. Tanner and four others were killed on November 10th, 2023 during an overwater training exercise in Cyprus.
