Our Cupcake Clinic Kick Off Meeting brought together food, fun and information Thursday evening at the Gore Ag Building, and it set the tone for what is shaping up to be a busy year in 4-H.

For anyone new to the program, 4-H is a youth development program through Oklahoma State University Extension, open to youth ages 8 through 12th grade. Younger children ages 5 to 7 are not left out either, thanks to Cloverbuds, a non-competitive program designed to introduce younger kids to 4-H through fun, non-competitive, age-appropriate activities.

Dea Smith, our volunteer cupcake coach, walked the club through the basics of mixing icing colors and icing cupcakes, a fitting warm-up since multiple teams have committed to competing in the Cupcake Wars at this year's Sequoyah County Fair.

Our local club is already 25 members strong with enrollment still open. Enroll now: https://4h.zsuite.org

Thank you to everyone who came out. It was a great start to the year. We cannot wait to see what this club builds together.

In Oklahoma, 4-H has long been famous for raising champion livestock and disciplined kids.

But today’s program goes far beyond the show ring.

As enrollment opens for the new Gore 4-H season, local youth have the chance to dive into everything from robotics and digital photography to public speaking and veterinary science. Built on four core pillars—Head, Heart, Hands, and Health—the program turns curiosity into real-world confidence, leadership, and practical skill.

Enrollment for the upcoming year is officially open: https://4h.zsuite.org/

Our local 4-H club spent a wonderful morning giving back to our community by helping clean up at the high school campus. From pulling weeds to picking up litter, our youth members put their hearts and hands into making sure the school looks its bright best for the students and teachers.

Taking care of the community is a foundational pillar of 4-H. Seeing our members step up, work hard, and lead this cleanup reminds us of the incredible impact youth can make when they work together for a common goal.

A huge thank you to all the members, parents, and volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and brought their energy this morning. 💚

This evening, our 4-H members learned the fundamentals of livestock, land, and soil judging by evaluating onions, avocados, and tomatoes. The activity provided a practical and engaging way to apply core judging principles.

We also celebrated the completion of a full 4-H year with a pizza party.

We are proud of the growth this group has shown and appreciate the continued support from our families and community!.🍀
