Maybe you’ve seen us post about a dinner, a recipient, a prize drawing, or a local business showing up for one of our women and thought… wait, what exactly is HOW Buckeye? 🩵

Here’s the quick version.

HOW Buckeye is the Buckeye, Arizona chapter of Helping One Woman — one of 27 chapters nationwide built around a simple but powerful idea: one woman, one dinner, one community showing up for her.

Each month, we come together for a local woman walking through an incredibly difficult season. Yes, the night provides tangible financial support, but HOW is about so much more than that. It’s about filling a room with people who are intentionally saying:

You are seen. You are supported. You do not have to walk through this alone.

Our dinners are full of connection, laughter, tears, photographers, photo booths, treats, drinks, prize drawings, silent auctions, incredible local businesses, and a whole lot of community love.

And HOW isn’t just for women — everyone is welcome. Bring your spouse, your friends, your coworkers, your family, or come meet some new people. There’s a seat at the table for anyone who wants to show up for someone in our community. 🤍

If you’ve been waiting for a personal invitation to come to a HOW Buckeye dinner… this is it. 💚

Come sit at the table with us on September 15 at Verrado Golf Club as we surround Shawna with a room full of love, support, and community.

You don’t have to know Shawna. You don’t have to know someone who already attends. You don’t need to come with a big group. Just come. Grab a friend, bring your spouse, invite your coworkers, or take the seat on your own — we promise, you’ll be welcomed the second you walk through the doors.

These dinners are something special, and the only way we can truly show each recipient that she does not walk this journey alone is by filling the room.

Myah has faced more than anyone should ever have to yet, she continues to show up with that beautiful smile and an incredible strength that inspires everyone around her. Right beside her through every hard moment is her mom Shawna; loving her, fighting for her, and reminding her that she is never alone. 🫶

This beautiful mother-daughter duo is the definition of strength, love, and resilience. Keep fighting, sweet Myah! Your village is right here beside you.

What does community mean to Shawna?

“To me, community means showing up. Not only when things are easy, but especially when someone is struggling or needs support. It means reminding someone they're not alone and helping with not expecting anything in return. I've learned that community can be found in the people who pray for you, check on you, bring you food, offer a listening ear, or simply stand beside you when you don't have the strength to stand on your own. It's about connecting with others and letting them know you're here on the good days and the bad.”
