Experience “A Contemplative Christmas ... Through Trees” — the event, returns to Palm Valley Community Center in Goodyear later December!

DATES: l Dec. 17-23 (daily)
TIME: 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. (open-house style) PLACE: Palm Valley Community Center, 14145 W Palm Valley Blvd. Goodyear, AZ

This open house Christmas event features 25 themed, “live” pine trees trees from Montana, decorated and adorned locally to inspire reflection and contemplation; telling the story of God and us…
from Genesis to Revelation.

This community event has been coordinated since 2018 by Rosella and Jim Reggin. The concept was inspired by several biblical scriptures that mention trees, which prompted using trees to highlight the story of Jesus’ birth.

Rosella tells the story behind the event: :

“We celebrate His birthday through the trees, but there’s so much more. We start at the beginning, with the “WORD tree”, because “in the beginning …. there was the word of God....” The story is told metaphorically using symbols and words.

The next three trees represent the creation tree, the “Tree of LIFE” and the “Tree of the KNOWLEDGE” (of good & evil) ... and from
There it continues through several more themed trees, the story of God & mankind .

Each person who attends the event receives a program and then can take a leisurely self-guided indoor walk thru the trees, enjoying the meaning-filled displays, accompanied by Christmas carols playing in the background.

At the end of the tree tour, folks and children can also enjoy the ‘sit down’ “Milk and Honey Café” , with Christmas treats and hot beverages! ☕️ 🍪

The “A Contemplative Christmas” event runs from 4 to 8:30 p.m. daily Dec. 17-23 at Palm Valley Community Center, 14145 W Palm Valley Blvd. Admission and parking are free.

Any voluntary donations made during the event will benefit the Veteran’s charity:

NOTE:
The Reggins and a crew of volunteers spend several days setting up the event.. The event is currently privately funded, with sponsorships welcomed.

🎄December 15th _ tentatively 3 pm _ set up trees at Palm Valley Community center _ help load/unload truck with supplies and decorations ,

🎄December 16th _ lighting trees_9 am _ decorating _ 10-1 and or 1-5 ..

🎄December 17th _ decorate _ 10-1 or 1-5

🎄December 18th -23rd (Sunday through Friday) LIVE EVENT _ 4-8:30 pm _
welcoming usher /greeter… hand out programs, watchful eye, parking lot .. check
December 18th _23rd _ 4-8:30 pm welcoming host/hostess guests on the patio _ self serve _ cookies and cocoa .. ( oversee) Milk and Honey cafe'
