Equipping churches for health, multiplication & mission. Church Health · Church Planting · Chaplaincy | Take your bold next step.

Venture Church Network has a rich history of service to the Body of Christ. We officially launched as the Conservative Baptist Association of America in the summer of 1947, four years after the formation of the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (now WorldVenture). A strong commitment to conserve biblical faith and practice was a core value to the founders. To this day, Venture Church Network maintains these convictions, coupled with a compelling vision to establish and maintain healthy gospel-centered churches in every community by helping churches take bold next steps. In addition, Venture Church Network is in partnership with the international CBGlobal family of national CB entities.

We are excited to announce Dr. James Gleason as the next President of Venture Church Network, starting January 1, 2027.

James has served as our northwest Regional Executive Director for the past seven years, and before that he was a pastor for more than three decades. He knows what it takes to lead a church toward health, and he knows how to walk alongside the leaders doing that work. The VCN board chose him unanimously, and we’re grateful for Dave Whitaker, who will continue serving our network as a coach, advisor, mentor, and speaker.

Please pray for this new season of our network, for James Gleason and his wife Mary Beth, and for Dave & Lanette Whitaker in this transition.

There is power in the word of God!

Last month, the 2025-2026 Ministry Leadership Certificate (MLC) students gathered for a graduation dinner to commemorate completing this nine month program. It was a wonderful evening spent celebrating their dedication, perseverance, and the ways that God worked in their lives.

Developed to answer the call of Ephesians 4:12, “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,” the MLC is more than a certificate program. It’s an opportunity to gain confidence in God’s word and grow alongside fellow ministry leaders to advance the Kingdom. We invite you to take a BOLD next step in your ministry journey and join us.

Thank you to Andy Flowers, Director of Leadership Education, for leading students in order to deepen their knowledge of God’s word and strengthen their confidence in sharing God’s truth.

Registration for the 2026-2027 MLC Program is now open. If you’re a part of the Venture Church Network Northern California/Nevada Region and looking to grow in practical skills and biblical wisdom, we invite you to take a BOLD next step in your ministry journey and sign up today!

Chaplaincy is one of our core pillars. Our chaplains have ministered on every continent, on every ocean, and in every time zone, in a wide variety of ministries, Federal, State, and Local.

We would love if you’d consider partnering with our chaplains by praying for strength, wisdom, and endurance to continue sharing God’s message faithfully in their areas of service.

Swipe for three important things to remember about chaplaincy.

From park gatherings during COVID to a new home in the community he grew up in… Pastor Aaron Newman and Union Church in San Clemente are proof that faithful churches find a way.

Pastor Aaron Newman grew up in San Clemente, came to faith in college, and felt called to plant a church in the city he loved. In 2018, that calling became Union Church. Eight years later, they are about to open the doors to their first permanent home.

We are so excited to see what God has next for Aaron, Madeline, and their congregation.

Follow along on their journey Union Church

We love hearing stories of how the Lord is working across the country. Sonrise Church and Radiant Church are over 2,000 miles apart, and yet God used one church to meet another exactly where they were.

What would it look like if we all intentionally looked for the opportunity right in our own backyard? What if the church that needs you is closer than you think?

Do you have a story like this, or are you looking for ways to help a church in your region? We would love to hear from you.
