Arizona Fire and Burn Educators Association The Arizona Fire and Burn Educators Association is committed to assisting the communities of the State of Arizona in promoting fire and life safety education.

In the quest to remain on the leading edge of our field, AFBEA maintains a substantial list of committees. Some of these are constant, such as the our two Conference Committees, Training Committee and the Grant Committees, but many are interim committees, set up to review operations, investigate new opportunities, or develop new funding, etc. These various committees allow our membership to be an integral part of the inner workings of the Association. Without the input of our membership, we can do nothing. If you are interested in participating in one of our special committees, please contact us. http://www.afbea.org/contact-us/

The City of El Mirage officially recognizes October 4–10 as Fire Prevention Week, following a city proclamation on September 15, 2026.

This year’s national theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” reminds us that safe charging habits can help reduce the risk of fires in our homes and communities.

The El Mirage Fire Department is helping local students learn important fire safety tips throughout October.

Let’s charge safely and stay fire safe!

Shout out to State Farm!

Fire Prevention Week is here!

We’re kicking off the week with an important reminder: fire safety starts with awareness, preparation, and knowing what to do before an emergency happens.

A big thank you to Jim Miller from State Farm for stopping by last week and bringing us Fire Prevention Week supplies and some treats! We also had a special visitor join us… Jake from State Farm!

We appreciate our community partners who help us spread the message and keep fire safety top of mind.
