🍧💚 Our Youth Did AMAZING Yesterday!

Yesterday our Summertime Sno Youth Program was in full swing fir the 2nd week in a row at Chicken N Pickle, and our youth showed exactly what entrepreneurship, confidence, and community engagement look like.

Chicken N Pickle - Glendale proudly announced Gervonni Cares, Inc. Summertime Sno Youth Program over the loudspeaker, and invited their guests to support our youth. One youth was so excited, he danced in celebration of no longer being nervous while serving customers.

In just one hour, they:
✅ Served 13 customers
✅ Earned $46 in sales
✅ Received $39 in donations
✅ Practiced customer service, communication, cash handling, and teamwork

The smiles, excitement, and confidence were priceless.

A special thank you to Raising Cane's Goodyear for supporting our Summertime Sno Youth Program for the 4th consecutive year through gift cards and achievement certificates. Your continued investment in our youth means so much.

Each youth receive a gift card of choice after each event. We commensurate at the end of the program with awards, back to school shopping and supplies. They're always two youth & two adults who alternate days at each event.

These young people are learning that success comes through effort, teamwork, and believing in themselves.

A New Location, A Bigger Impact! 🥕📦

Yesterday was our first Saturday Food Pantry distribution at our new office located at 13210 W. Van Buren St, Ste 102, Goodyear, AZ 85338, and we were overwhelmed by the community response!

We typically serve 16–20 individuals and families on Saturdays. Yesterday, we served 29 households, while also distributing raised garden beds to community members who expressed interest through Nextdoor.

As we continue settling into our new location, moments like these remind us why we do this work. Families are facing rising costs, food insecurity continues to impact our neighbors, and together we are helping bridge that gap.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, volunteered, donated, shared our information, or simply encouraged us during this transition.

We are looking forward to officially welcoming everyone to our new home during our Grand Opening Celebration in July 2026!

Honored to Be Speaking at the Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration! ✊🏾

I am excited to join community leaders, advocates, and residents on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at The Post in Downtown Mesa for this year's Juneteenth celebration hosted by Zen Nights.

I will be presenting:

Housing Is Healthcare: Preventing Crisis Through Stability and Support

Too often, we think of healthcare as something that begins in a doctor's office. The reality is that healthcare starts at home. Stable housing impacts physical health, mental wellness, educational success, employment stability, and overall quality of life.

Through my work with Gervonni Cares, Inc., I have witnessed firsthand how eviction prevention, tenant advocacy, food security, financial literacy, and workforce development can transform lives and prevent crises before they occur.

As we celebrate Juneteenth and reflect on freedom, resilience, and progress, let's also recognize that access to safe and stable housing is a foundation for opportunity and community well-being.

I look forward to connecting with everyone, supporting local vendors, and sharing resources that help families thrive.

We're excited to announce that Gervonni Cares, Inc. has been selected as a JustReinvest Grant recipient! 🎉

This funding will support our Community-Based Direct Services, helping individuals and families facing housing instability through eviction prevention, diversion services, advocacy, and resource navigation.

We are directly preventing crisis and stabilizing families in real time.

Today marked the first day of our Summertime Sno Youth Program at Chicken N Pickle - Glendale , and what an exciting start to the summer!

Our youth are gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, customer service, cash handling, teamwork, and financial responsibility while operating their very own sno cone stand. These real-world experiences help build confidence, leadership skills, and a strong foundation for future success.

We will be at Chicken N Pickle all summer long, and we invite the community to stop by, grab a sno cone, and support these amazing young entrepreneurs as they learn valuable business skills.
