A fear that I have heard some cite is that evangelism comes across judgmental. This in large part comes from the fact that our culture tries to lead us to believe that sharing your faith with people is offensive. Especially if they believe a different religion. While on the contrary Jesus tells us the opposite, to go out and make disciples of all nations.
Culture will lead you to believe this it’s more loving to not push your faith on someone else...to let them be. However, if we truly believe as Christians that the greatest mistake someone could make is to die without Jesus, then why would we believe that? What kind of love am I showing for another person if I don’t tell them how they can be saved from an eternity in hell and receive salvation by grace through Jesus.
It does not take away from the fact that our approach and delivery are important. It’s not judgmental to tell someone the truth. If I know that 2+2+4 but my friend mistakenly thinks that it equals 3, then am I judging him by telling him the correct answer? Now it’s a different story if I’m calling him an idiot at the same time I am telling him the right answer. However, if I communicate to him that I know the truth to be that 2+2=4 and give him reasons why in a gentle manner, then I am giving him a chance to see truth.
