Generators are an important safety tool following a natural disaster, but are you using one correctly?

Follow the below tips to ensure you use a generator safely while power is being restored following Hurricane Isaias:

🏠 Keep generators at least 20 feet away from your home.
🚫 Never operate a generator in an enclosed space.
✅ Make sure the generator has 3 to 4 feet of clear space above and on all sides for proper ventilation.
⚡ Use the proper cord for the wattage and always use GFCI protection.

🌳 🚛 HURRICANE DEBRIS COLLECTION: As you begin placing Hurricane Isaias debris at the curb, be sure to sort your debris properly so it can be collected.

✅ Please stay tuned to myescambia.com for information about when debris collection in Escambia County will begin. We ask for your patience, as debris collection will take time due to the magnitude of the damage and debris. Rest assured, we have plans in place and will keep you posted with more information.
