TNR works....there should never be any over-population. 🐾

DAY 6: COMMUNITY CATS & OVERPOPULATION 🐾

In community cat colonies, just a few unfixed cats can turn into dozens very quickly.

That's why TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) is so important:

✔ Stops reproduction
✔ Reduces fighting
✔ Improves overall health
✔ Stabilizes colony populations

And that little ear tip?

It tells everyone that the cat has already been through a TNVR program and doesn't need to be trapped again.

In the United States, an ear tip is a straight-line removal of the tip of the cat's left ear while the cat is under anesthesia during spay/neuter surgery. It's the universally recognized sign that a community cat has been fixed and vaccinated. Our picture doesn't show that because AI doesn't listen and our Volunteers are tired!

Friends of Feral Felines has helped thousands of Charlotte-area community cats through TNVR because it's the most humane and effective solution to cat overpopulation.

🐾GPAW is doing fundraisers & begging for our New Cat Fence. The Fence right now is 20 yrs old and full of patch jobs. We are wanting to replace so the cats stay safe and can not get out.💰

There has been some of our🐈Regular donors, some New donors🐈‍⬛ and an Anonymous Donor who gave us $1000 !¡!
We are a quarter of the way there, and rising slowly.
🐾We APPRECIATE ALL our donors! 🐾

This is a FACT!! We see it here in Gonzales. There is about 3 programs right now that will help get the cats and kittens fixed. Even dogs.....some are low cost and some are free.

DAY 5: KITTENS HAVING KITTENS 😿

Kittens can become pregnant as young as 4–5 months old.

Yes... kittens having kittens.

Their bodies aren't fully developed, which increases risks for:
⚠️ Pregnancy complications
⚠️ Illness
⚠️ Kitten mortality

Many people are surprised to learn that a kitten born in the spring can become a parent before the end of summer.

Early spay/neuter is safe, effective, and lifesaving.

The sooner we can prevent unwanted litters, the fewer kittens will be born into lives of uncertainty, illness, and homelessness.

Got busy yesterday....we have ALOT of kittens and cats, Plus they are still coming in! Please spay or neuter, the shelters are FULL!

It's not "cute" or harmless—it's instinctual and rough.

DAY 3: HEAT CYCLES ARE NO JOKE 😳

Female cats don't just go into heat once or twice a year...

They can go into heat every 2–3 weeks during breeding season.

That means:
📣 Loud yowling
🚪 Trying to escape
🐾 Constant mating attempts

It's stressful for them—and for you.

Spaying eliminates the cycle and gives them a calmer, healthier life.
