We are incredibly grateful to Higginbotham Insurance & Financial Services for their generous $2,000 donation in support of our Touch the Truck & Chili Cook-Off fundraiser.
Because of their support—and the amazing efforts of our community—we were able to raise $7,200 to benefit the volunteer fire departments of District 1. This contribution played a major role in helping us reach our goal and ultimately provide a new training prop that will serve and strengthen our firefighters for years to come.
Our mission has always been to give back to those who give so much to Ascension Parish every single day. We’re proud to stand behind our volunteer firefighters and thankful for partners like Higginbotham who help make a lasting impact possible.

Special thanks to Higginbotham Insurance & Financial Services, also Darry Beckwith and Brian Schexnaydre and our Leadership Ascension Team, the "Trailblazers" for recently raising funds for the Volunteer Fire Departments here in Ascension Parish. Higginbotham Insurance donated $2000.00 of the $7200.00 raised by the team.
The money was used to purchased a "Training Prop" for Ascension Parish Fire District #1 volunteer fire departments.
The goal of the "Trailblazers" was always to give back to the group that continues to give to Ascension Parish daily for no pay, The Volunteer Firefighters of Ascension Parish.
Fire Board Chairman James E. LeBlanc, wanted to extend a big thanks to Higginbotham and the Trailblazers for their generous donation, this training prop purchase will continue to train volunteer firefighters here in Ascension Parish for years to come.
