STEMpact Ascension

Born from our Leadership Ascension group, STEMpact Ascension enriches education for Gonzales and Donaldsonville students.

Using hands-on STEM tools, we aim to spark curiosity, nurture critical thinking, and help every child thrive in school and beyond. STEMpact Ascension is a youth-centered, locally led initiative created by a project team from the Leadership Ascension Program, Class of 2025, through the Ascension Chamber of Commerce. Our mission is to enhance the learning experiences of 2nd grade students at Gonzale

s and Donaldsonville Primary Schools by providing hands-on STEM and literacy resources. Through this initiative, we aim to inspire curiosity, nurture critical thinking, and foster a lifelong love of learning in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and reading. By building confidence and creativity, we strive to help every child thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Although our Leadership Ascension term has come to a close, the impact continues.

STEMpact Ascension was honored at the Ascension Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala, where our group project received the Leadership Ascension Project of the Year Award.

We are especially proud to celebrate our teammate Randy Crawford, who also received the Best Small Business Award. Our presenting sponsor, CF Industries, was recognized as Industry Leader of the Year, making the evening even more meaningful for everyone connected to this work.

We are proud of our team and our dedication to investing in the youth of Ascension Parish and helping fuel bright futures. Our term may be complete, but the mission lives on.

We have BIG news to share... STEMpact Ascension WON PROJECT OF THE YEAR!

This recognition was announced at the Leadership Ascension graduation, and our entire team is truly grateful. Thank you to everyone who supported us, encouraged us, and helped keep us motivated as we developed the first-of-its-kind STEM classrooms across Ascension Parish. This project was driven by collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to expanding opportunities for students in our community.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Donaldsonville Primary School, Gonzales Primary School, and G.W. Carver Primary for welcoming us into your campuses and allowing us to transform your classrooms. Your openness and partnership made this project possible.

Before anything else, we want to recognize the true strength of this program: our community. As this year’s Project of the Year recipients, we also want to take a moment to sincerely spotlight the other Leadership Ascension groups who served alongside us. Each team delivered meaningful impact, and it was an honor to grow and lead together.

Donaldsonville Hospitality Alliance - Your team delivered a refreshed message of welcome for the City of Donaldsonville. Your project created a polished, unified identity that supports future growth and reflects the city’s commitment to progress and hospitality.

Ascension Parish Touch the Truck & Chili Cook-off - Your team elevated awareness of the essential work of our volunteer firefighters. Through thoughtful outreach and strategic visibility efforts, you highlighted their service and strengthened community support for those who help keep Ascension Parish safe.

Locked into LOCCD - Your project amplified the mission of Loving Our Communities Children by providing meaningful resources, operational support, and increased visibility. The impact you delivered contributes to long-term stability and continued service for families in West Ascension.

To our classmates, supporters, Ascension Chamber of Commerce and the entire Parish of Ascension, we thank you. This win belongs to all of us.

We were honored to present STEMpact Ascension to the Ascension Chamber of Commerce at the November Member Luncheon. Our mission was to create the first-of-its-kind STEM classrooms in Ascension Parish, and we did just that! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve this community and empower the leaders of tomorrow.

We’re at the finish line! Today, our team delivers the final presentation to Leadership Ascension about our project, STEMpact Ascension. From the start, we’ve innovated, broken barriers, and created two of the first-of-their-kind STEM classrooms in our parish. To the more than 730 of you who have cheered us on, thank you.
