A Friendly Reminder About Donations ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and resilience of our Gonzales community. Your donations help GCAM continue serving our neighbors in need.

We would like to kindly clarify our donation drop-off process:

🚫 Please do NOT leave donations on the ground outside the donation bins. If the bins are full, please wait until we are open and able to receive your donation.

📦 Donation Drop-Off Hours:
Monday–Friday
7:00 AM–11:00 AM

Please bring donations to the front of our building facing St. Louis Street. We have a large room ready to receive your donations during these hours.

We gladly accept clean, gently used clothing, household items, books, cookware, decorations and other smaller items that we can sell or distribute to help our neighbors.

🚫 Please do not donate large furniture or appliances, as we do not have the space to store, display, or sell these items.

🙏 Please help us keep Gonzales beautiful and clean. We appreciate your generosity, but please do not dump or leave items on the ground. All donations must either fit completely inside the donation bins or be brought to the front of the building during our donation hours.

¡Estamos muy contentos con los cambios que están ocurriendo en GCAM! Agradecemos sinceramente su paciencia, apoyo y sugerencias mientras seguimos haciendo cambios para servir mejor a nuestros vecinos.

Si todavía no se ha inscrito en nuestro programa de alimentos, le invitamos a pasar a visitarnos. La inseguridad alimentaria es un asunto serio y queremos ayudar. ❤️

A medida que mejoramos nuestro proceso, el número de hogares que atendemos continúa creciendo. Debido a que contamos con un espacio limitado para refrigerar alimentos, les pedimos que hagan una cita para que podamos atender a cada vecino de manera segura y eficiente.

GCAM cuenta con el apoyo de la generosidad de las iglesias locales, individuos y toda nuestra comunidad. Estamos especialmente agradecidos con nuestros donantes privados, quienes proporcionan aproximadamente 2,200 libras de carne fresca cada mes para nuestros vecinos. Good Morning, Neighbors! 🌞

We are so pleased with the changes happening at GCAM! We truly appreciate your patience, support, and suggestions as we continue making changes to serve our neighbors better.

If you have not yet signed up for our food program, we encourage you to stop by and visit us. Food insecurity is serious business, and we want to help. ❤️

As we make improvements to our process, the number of households we serve continues to grow. Because we have limited refrigerated storage space, we ask that appointments be made so we can serve each neighbor safely and efficiently.

GCAM is supported by the generosity of local churches, individuals, and our community. We are especially thankful for our private donors, who provide approximately 2,200 pounds of fresh meat every month for our neighbors. That support makes a tremendous difference.

We also could not do what we do without the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, which helps provide and coordinate the majority of the food we distribute.

We are continuing to improve our food distribution process. We are investing in new freezers and additional skilled help to handle our growth. Currently, GCAM distributes approximately 13 tons of food every month!

There is a lot that happens behind the scenes—ordering, receiving, sorting, storing, refrigerating, organizing, and distributing thousands of pounds of food. It takes careful planning, hard work, and a whole lot of faith.

As a reminder, every dollar donated can help us purchase up to 5 pounds of food for our neighbors.

We gladly accept clean, lightly worn clothing, along with:
• Small household items & decorations
• Books
• Knickknacks
• Cookware
• Other clean, gently used household items

Every donation makes a difference. Items are sold or given to our neighbors through our thrift shop, and 100% of the funds raised support the operation of the GCAM Food Pantry.

💙 Every $1 raised at our thrift shop helps us purchase 5 pounds of food for our community.

We also welcome monetary donations to help us operate and maintain both the food pantry and thrift shop.

A THANK YOU TO OUR GCAM NEIGHBORS ❤️

What a busy and productive week!

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone for participating in our new food distribution schedule. This first week was wonderful, and I am very thankful for your patience, understanding, and willingness to work with us as we make these changes.

One of the things I enjoyed most this week was having the opportunity to meet more of my neighbors and spend time talking with you. Your conversations, questions, and stories are important to us. As our new schedule allows us more time, we look forward to having more of these conversations and getting to know you better.

We will continue this coming week with more improvements as we work together to make GCAM a better place to serve our community. Our goal is not only to provide food, but also to listen, encourage, and help wherever we can.

We love you all, and we are grateful to be your neighbors and to serve alongside you. ❤️

📢 Actualización Importante de GCAM

A partir de la próxima semana, estaremos implementando algunos cambios importantes para servir mejor a nuestros vecinos.

Nuestro servicio de distribución de alimentos por ventanilla (drive-thru) estará disponible todos los martes y viernes de 8:00 a.m. a 10:00 a.m.

Además, comenzaremos a programar las entregas mensuales de alimentos de manera individual, según las necesidades de cada caso. Estamos entusiasmados con estos cambios positivos, ya que nos permitirán dedicar más tiempo a cada vecino, comprender mejor sus necesidades y brindar una ayuda más personalizada.

📢 Important Update from GCAM

Beginning next week, we will be implementing some important changes to better serve our neighbors.

Our drive-thru food distribution will be available every Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

In addition, we will begin scheduling monthly food pickups on a case-by-case basis. We are excited about these positive changes because they will allow us to spend more time with each neighbor, better understand their individual needs, and provide more personalized assistance.

If you are in need of food assistance, please come and speak with us. We are here to help.

This is a new process for us, and we kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this transition. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to serving our community in an even more meaningful way.

Today I want to give a very special thank you to Monica and Jeff.

As Director of GCAM, I have the privilege of meeting many wonderful people, but today I was reminded of what two dedicated parents can accomplish together. Monica and Jeff have raised four children who are smart, thoughtful, funny, hardworking, and above all, loving. Their children are a reflection of the incredible job they have done as parents.

Having their family volunteer and serve alongside us at GCAM has been a true blessing. They remind me that our mission is about so much more than food—it's about people, relationships, and community.

Being part of GCAM is good for me. I receive far more than I could ever give. Families like Monica and Jeff's make every early morning, every challenge, and every effort worthwhile.

Thank you both for sharing your family, your hearts, and your example with all of us. You are a blessing to GCAM and to our community.

Good morning Gonzales!

Every day, Gonzales Christian Assistance Ministry (GCAM) works to ensure that no one in Gonzales County goes hungry. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we currently distribute an average of 11 tons of food each month.

But we know there is more work to do.

We have identified at least 200 underserved senior citizens in our county who are struggling with food insecurity. Many of these elderly neighbors have limited mobility, live on fixed incomes, or simply don't have access to the nutritious food they need.

Our goal is to expand our outreach and provide them with healthy, nutritious food on a regular basis.

To make this happen, we need your help.

Your monetary donations will allow us to:

- Purchase food boxes and packing supplies.
- Provide nutritious food specifically for our senior population.
- Recruit and train dedicated volunteers—or hire part-time help—to ensure this program is reliable and sustainable.

This is not something GCAM can accomplish alone. It will take the support of individuals, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and our entire community to care for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can ensure that no senior in Gonzales County has to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table.
