We had another successful work day at Girsh Park. Picking up trash, removing staples, and as always great fellowship! Since we have adopted Girsh Park, we continue to help it shine!!

We had another incredible barbecue at Goleta Beach last night! Love our social time that includes friends, spouses, and fellow Rotarian’s. Special thanks to our cooks, Brooke Armstrong and Scott Missman. Just so happens, they were both named as Rotarian of the year last year. Their dedication continues. Also, thanks to Mark A Hudson who has been coordinating these great gatherings.

At our latest BBQ (great turnout and fabulous meat), Brooke Bigelow talked about Dream Foundation (a program that gives lives to final dreams). A specific program of the Dream Foundation is Flower Empower, a Santa Barbara–based, volunteer-driven program of Dream Foundation that delivers joy and compassion through hand-crafted bouquets🥰, and cards made by local children and adults. Our club handed over a check to show our support of the organization.

A Proclamation was handed over from City Council member James Kyriaco recognizing our 90-year anniversary as a club!.
Serving the Goleta Valley, the broader community and our international efforts are accomplishments worth recognizing!

We had the dedication of our Rotary Peace Pole at Girsh Park today. May Peace Prevail on Earth is inscribed on the pole in eight languages and in braille. It represents our ongoing promise to work towards building peace internationally. It serves as a neutral ground where people of all backgrounds can find common harmony. We hope it inspires unity among people of all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds. In our 90th year of serving the community this Peace Pole is fittingly placed next to the Pat O’Malley Field House.

We had our official passing of the gavel to our incoming President Roger Aceves from the outgoing Co-Presidents Stacy Alvarez & Tammy Dobrotin. We also recognized our 2 outstanding Rotarians of the Year, Brooke Armstrong & Scott Missman at our last meeting.
