🌳💛 TODAY IS PARK FEST! 💛🌳

Today, Fostering Hope Ministries is gathering for our 2nd Annual Park Fest, and we would LOVE for you to join us!

Park Fest is a time for foster families, adoptive families, and those walking alongside them to come together, fellowship, encourage one another, and build community. Whether you are currently fostering or adopting, have supported a family through their journey, or simply want to learn more about how you can care for children and families in your community — there is a place for you here. 🤍

Our hope is that today would be a reminder that we were never meant to do this alone. Foster and adoptive families need people who will lean in, listen, encourage, pray, show up, and walk beside them for the long haul.

✨ We’ll have:
🍖 Food from Ray’s Barbecue
🎶 A time of worship
🎤 Encouraging speakers who understand foster care and adoption firsthand
🤍 Fellowship with other families and supporters
🌱 Opportunities to learn how to better support children and families

Come with your family. Come with a friend. Come if you’ve been involved in foster care for years, and come if you’re just beginning to wonder what your role might be.

There is always room for one more person to say, “I’ll walk with you.”

🧥 TOMORROW — WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE

Help us stock The HOPE Box with new or very gently used winter clothing for children and families in our community! Come enjoy a fun evening with food, entertainment, and an opportunity to make a tangible difference for children in foster care and the families caring for them.

Every donation helps us continue providing clothing and resources with dignity and love. 🫶

We’re excited to gather foster, kinship, and adoptive families for an afternoon of fellowship, connection, barbecue, and encouragement! ❤️

There will be inspiring speakers sharing from their experiences, opportunities to connect with other families walking similar journeys, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being together.

Whether you’re a foster family, kinship family, adoptive family, someone who wants to support these families, or you’re simply looking for a way to get involved — we’d love to have you join us!

Two events. Two different ways to show up. One shared heart: caring for vulnerable children and supporting the families who say YES to them. 💙

💕 HOPE BOX SERVE DAY — TOMORROW! 💕

Tomorrow, September 5th from 9 AM–12 PM, we’ll be gathering at the Hope Box for a big fall transition and I would LOVE to have you join us!

We have lots to accomplish as we:
🍂 Move our fall & winter clothing into the Hope Box
📦 Sort through new donations
🧺 Organize totes and inventory
🪑 Set up tables and tents
✨ Work toward our new setup with the Hope Box serving children and our new Connex serving adults

And I could especially use some MEN to help with the heavy lifting! 💪🏼 We’ll be moving totes, setting up tables and tents, and doing some of the heavier work to get everything ready.

My heart for the Hope Box is for it to feel less like a clothing closet and more like a boutique, a place where children and families walk in and feel seen, loved, valued, and cared for. ❤️

If you have a few hours tomorrow morning, come serve with us! Whether you’re sorting clothes, organizing, lifting, setting up, or simply lending a helping hand, you have a place here. 🫶🏼

🏈💙 FOOTBALL FRIDAY BONUS! 💙🏈

Who needs a little Washington Warrior spirit for tonight’s game?! 🙌

I have some Warrior apparel available at the Hope Box, and I’d LOVE to see it get some use! 🏈💙

I’ll be here for a couple more hours this morning, and then tomorrow from 9 AM–12 PM for our Serve Day.

💜 A Special Donation for a Special Need 💜

The Hope Box received a very generous donation of Similac Alimentum hypoallergenic formula this week, and we would love to see it get into the hands of a foster, kinship, or adoptive family who truly needs it. 🍼💜

We know specialty formula can be expensive and difficult to keep stocked, especially when a child is placed unexpectedly and suddenly needs a specific type of formula.

We currently have 8 unopened cans of Similac Alimentum Infant Formula with Iron (12.1 oz).

If your family is currently using Alimentum and could benefit from this donation, please send us a private message. We would love to help get this to a family who needs it.

There’s a different perspective of the Hope Box that I don’t often get to share—the personal one. ❤️

Yesterday, I received a phone call asking if our family would be willing to take a temporary placement of a baby boy who is being discharged from the NICU.

And as I sat there thinking through what saying “yes” would mean, I realized something pretty special…

I already had so many of the things we would need because of the Hope Box.

A car seat.
Diapers.
A boppi pillow.
Burp cloths.
A baby blanket.
A few baby outfits.
The little things that you don’t always think about until you suddenly need them.

Having those things already available made it a little easier for our family to say, “Yes, we can do this.”

I’m always thankful to see the ways God uses the Hope Box to provide for foster, kinship, and adoptive families in our community. I’ve watched Him bring in exactly what a family needs at exactly the right time more times than I can count.

But today, I’m a little extra thankful.

Because this time, I don’t just get to be a part of serving through the Hope Box…

I get to be served by it. ❤️

It’s a beautiful reminder that this ministry belongs to God. He provides through it, He uses it, and sometimes He even reminds us that we are not exempt from needing help too.

The Hope Box was created to help families say YES when a child needs somewhere safe to land.

Yesterday, it helped my family say yes. 🥹

And I think that might be one of the sweetest parts of this ministry yet.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” — James 1:27

One of our local foster families welcomed a sibling set of three children into their home this week. ❤️

Because of the Hope Box, we were able to help provide some of the things they needed right away—clothing, diapers, comfort items, and even a crib and high chair.

This is exactly why this ministry exists. To come alongside foster families during those unexpected moments and help make sure children have what they need to feel safe, loved, and cared for.

I am so incredibly thankful to watch God move and provide through this ministry. Every donation, volunteer, and prayer makes a difference. What a blessing it is to be able to say, “Yes, we can help.” 🙏🏼❤️

Today was our very first Serve Monday at the Hope Box, and my heart is so full. ❤️

Six amazing ladies gave their time this morning, and together we accomplished so much. Sorting donations, organizing clothing, stocking essentials, and helping prepare the Hope Box to better serve local foster, kinship, and adoptive families.

This ministry has grown so much, and it was such a gift to be reminded that we are not meant to do this work alone. Every bag sorted, every rack organized, and every hour volunteered helps bring hope and practical support to children and families in our community.

To these sweet volunteers: thank you for showing up, serving so faithfully, and being the hands and feet of Jesus. We are so grateful for each of you! 💙
