Ag literacy is an important part of our mission and this is one way we accomplish it. Our Women’s Leadership Committee donates ag-accurate books to 19 1st Grades in Wayne County schools every spring! We missed posting it yesterday, so happy belated birthday N.C. Farm Bureau!

On this day in 1936, the first ever board meeting was held in Pitt Co.
Chair J.E. Winslow called it to order and it was established that this county office on Evans Street in Greenville would serve as the newly formed organization’s temporary state headquarters.
At the time, membership was slightly above 2,000, spread across 24 counties in eastern North Carolina.
Today, 90 years later, we have more than 665,000 members statewide and are proud to be the second largest state Farm Bureau in the nation!
