🎉 As we wrap up Community Action Month, we’re proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 60 years of WAGES serving our community! 🎉

For six decades, WAGES has been dedicated to helping individuals and families build brighter futures. From supporting young children through early education programs to assisting seniors in maintaining independence and quality of life, our mission has remained the same: strengthening our community through service, opportunity, and hope.

Over the past 60 years, we have positively impacted thousands of lives across Wayne County and beyond. This achievement would not be possible without the support of our staff, volunteers, partners, Board of Directors, and the community members who have entrusted us to walk alongside them on their journey.

As we celebrate our past, we remain committed to our future, continuing our tradition of excellence and expanding opportunities for the communities we serve.

In celebration of Older Americans Month, WAGES is proud to recognize the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the incredible volunteers who make a difference throughout Wayne and Wilson Counties. RSVP connects adults age 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities that strengthen our communities and improve lives.
From delivering meals and supporting senior centers to assisting local nonprofits and community organizations, RSVP volunteers continue to prove that service has no age limit. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment help promote healthy communities, aging in place, and stronger connections for older adults.
Thank you to our RSVP volunteers for your time, heart, and impact. Your service truly matters!

During Older Americans Month, WAGES proudly recognizes the impact of our Senior Nutrition Program and the seniors we are honored to serve each day. Through our Home Delivered Meals Program, nutritious meals are delivered directly to homebound seniors, providing not only nourishment, but also daily wellness checks, safety monitoring, and meaningful social connection.
Our Congregate Nutrition Program offers seniors the opportunity to enjoy healthy meals, fellowship, activities, and nutrition education at our congregate meal sites located at the Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center in Goldsboro and the Mt. Olive Nutrition Site. The Senior Nutrition Program plays a vital role in helping older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected to their community. WAGES is proud to support and celebrate our older adults today and every day!
