The GAC - Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The GAC ~ Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on 10/23/65. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

The South Atlantic Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was established in 1960. The Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on October 23, 1965. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its’ founding more than 300,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has over 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, Canada, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica, the Republic of Korea, the Arabian Gulf, Southern Africa and West Africa. The major programs of the Sorority are based upon the organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in collaboration with the Goldsboro-Wayne Chapter of the NAACP and the League of Women Voters of Wake County, sponsored a Candidates Forum on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the Maxwell Center, Goldsboro, NC.
The forum provided an opportunity to introduce candidates and to enlighten and inform the Wayne County community about the platforms and priorities of the candidate. The event was moderated by Kariana Taylor and Ericka Griffin of Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter and Gaye Williams of the League of Women Voters. The moderators helped to facilitate an informative and engaging evening.
GAC thanks the members of the Social Action Committee for their dedication, preparation and hard work in making the Candidates Forum a success.
