Our Fairmount Elementary School PTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to advocating for children and providing educational support. The PTA board and committees consist of dedicated parents who volunteer their time and talents to support our school.

So… why join the PTA? Because joining is one of the simplest ways to say: I support this school, its teachers and its kids.

And just to be very clear: PTA membership is not a commitment to volunteer, attend every meeting or add one more obligation to your calendar. No required hours. No pressure. No guilt.

It simply helps build a stronger Fairmount community! One where families stay connected, teachers feel supported and the PTA has a bigger collective voice for all of our kids.

Fairmount, are you ready?! Our Back-to-School Bash is almost here, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Join us Thursday, September 10, from 4:30–7:30 p.m. for an evening filled with food trucks, sponsor booths, games, a bounce house, our spirit wear exchange and plenty of time to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

Bring the kids. Come hungry. Stay awhile. This is one of those wonderfully fun, very Fairmount nights and we hope your whole family will be there! ❤️💙💛

If your child participated in Summer Learning Bingo (from the Summer reading activity packet), bring their bingo sheet to the Back-to-School Bash on September 10 and they’ll receive a prize!

Community Spotlight! 💜 If your kids love to cheer, dance, or just want to feel like one of the big high school kids for a night, the Mini Wildcats Clinic is back!

The Arvada West High School cheer and dance teams are teaching a 2-hour clinic on Wednesday, Sept 16, and participants get to perform at the Wildcats football game on Thursday, Sept 17!

When: Wednesday, Sept 16 (Clinic, 5-7 PM) & Thursday, Sept 17 (Performance at game)

Where: Clinic @ Arvada West High School | Game @ North Area Athletic Complex

Cost: $65 (Includes t-shirt, poms, bow, and stadium entry for your participant)

Bonus: $10 off for each additional sibling!

Help us make a little classroom magic! Each Fairmount classroom has two parent helpers who work with the teacher to plan three celebrations during the year: Halloween, Valentine’s Day and an end-of-year party. You’ll have a $100 budget for each party, another parent to share the planning with and the chance to create some really special memories for the kids.

It’s also a great way to get to know your child’s teacher, spend a little more time in the classroom and connect with another Fairmount parent.

Fairmount families, this is the one. Our Back to School Bash is happening Thursday, September 10, from 4:30–7:30 p.m., and we’re packing a lot of fun into one evening.

We’ll have food trucks (so you can officially take dinner off your list), a bounce house, games and activities, sponsor booths, a spirit wear exchange and plenty of chances for kids to run around while parents catch up.

It’s one of our favorite ways to celebrate the start of a new school year and spend time together as a Fairmount community.

New school year, new classmates, and a whoooole lot of parent faces you’re pretty sure you’ve seen before but maybe haven’t officially met.

Our Meet Your Grade playground socials are a simple chance for kids to play with their classmates while families meet, connect or reconnect, make new friends and put some names to faces. No formal agenda! Just come by the Fairmount playground after school from 2:45–3:45 p.m.

Here’s the schedule:

• Monday, August 24: Kindergarten + 1st Grade
• Tuesday, August 25: 2nd Grade
• Wednesday, August 26: 3rd Grade
• Thursday, August 27: 4th Grade
• Tuesday, September 1: 5th Grade

We’re back in the building! Backpacks are hung, school supplies are sorted and our Firebirds are officially in their seats ready for another incredible year at Fairmount.

Maybe some big emotions this morning, for kids and parents alike. But sometimes feeling nervous just means we’re excited, we care and what we’re doing is important. And starting a brand-new school year is a pretty big deal.

Here’s to new teachers, new friendships, new adventures and a really great year ahead. We did it, Firebirds!

Okay, Firebirds... here we go! Tomorrow morning is Meet Your Teacher and School Supply Drop-Off.

Stop by Fairmount any time between 8:00–9:00 a.m. to meet your teacher, find your classroom and cubby, drop off school supplies, and get everyone a little more comfortable before the first day. You can also bring any medications to the clinic.

If you ordered an EduKit, congratulations on an easier morning: it has already been delivered to your child’s classroom and is at your child's desk.

Then, since you’re already there, stick around for the first PTA meeting of the year at 9:00 a.m. on the playground! Kids can play under PTA supervision while parents hear what’s coming up, reconnect with familiar faces and meet some new Fairmount families.

Calling all incoming kindergarten families! Kindergarten Orientation is tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Fairmount gym.

This is an important information night just for kindergarten parents, where you’ll get the details you need before your brand-new Firebird starts school. We hope to see you there!

And because starting kindergarten comes with approximately 847 questions, the PTA has put together a Kindergarten Welcome Packet covering everything from first-day logistics and dismissal to lunch, recess, communication, volunteering and all the other things you may not even know you need to ask yet.
