Both runs start at Shelton Elementary in Golden and are nestled next to Apex open space providing stunning views o
f Golden’s Table Mountains and Boulder’s Flatirons. This event benefits Shelton’s health and wellness initiatives and is designed for all ages. Last year, half the participants in the 5K were under the age of 12 with the oldest finisher over the age of 75! On the day of the race there will be family friendly activities, free food/drinks, music and a basket raffle for all participants and spectators during and following the race. All kids receive a medal upon finishing and everyone takes home a great commemorative technical t-shirt. The top three male and female runners win a free pair of running shoes from Vital Outdoors. There are prizes for top age group prizes as well. We hope to see you there to support this family friendly community event in Golden. Thanks to our generous sponsors this is one of the most affordable 5k events in the area. Prices are $15 for the 1 Mile Fun Run, $20 for the 5k (under 18) and $25 for adults.
