ShirtBOARDS
As we come up to a week into our Kickstarter campaign to raise money for our charitable efforts, we want to reiterate that we did not create our project after George Floyds passing. We had created these ShirtBOARDs during our pandemic to bring people together from safe distances and pacify the sad, nervous feelings while in quarantine, away from loved ones. Ultimately, it was our hope to give them a voice for unity and compassion, with only 3 guidelines existing for our each of our garment graphics: They’re NON-POLITICAL, INCLUSIVE TO ALL & CREATE A PEACEFUL CALL-TO-ACTION.
That said, in a continuation from , we’ve continued to evaluate our city’s tragedy while keeping under-served groups most impacted by the Mr. Floyd’s death near to our hearts and minds. The main reason, we wanted to make our Kickstarter launch (that was scheduled a month before George’s death) wasn’t insensitive and no longer impactful. In reflection, we still passionately feel in light of the horrific event(s) and the divisiveness many people may feel in reaction to violent behavior & protest, that we still have an untapped opportunity to bring people together, as intended with our original COVID-19 mission statement. Eventually, we hope we can move all our people away from violent protest to peaceful and passive reform that our garments champion…Do you feel under-served? Or your voice muted? Are we adequately serving you with our project? We want to hear and understand you all so that we may continue to reevaluate our charity and make it MOST impact to the MOST amount people as possible
