Grandbabies are so special! Our Music Specialist Sara worked with patient Mandy to write a lullaby for her unborn grandson. Our Foundation donated a couple of recordable teddy bears that Mandy and Sara recorded themselves on singing the lullaby in to the bears. Mandy's unborn grandson will be living states away so she is going to gift these to him as a keepsake to always remember his grandma's love for him. She is one proud grandma!

From the moment our team met Rosie, we were captivated by her spunky personality and bright smile. She loved having new visitors and quickly became part of our Moments family.

Rosie has always had a special connection to roses, especially yellow ones. After waking up from surgery to find two dozen yellow roses waiting for her, she knew she wanted a yellow rose tattoo to celebrate that moment.

Thanks to the Moments Foundation, we were honored to help make her dream come true.

Ann was taken to Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota to visit her beloved husband, Bob, who passed unexpectedly about a year ago. As a proud military wife, Ann shared stories of the travels and sacrifices they made together. When she learned she'd be visiting Bob again, her smile said it all.

One of their dreams was to have a picnic at the cemetery — and we were honored to make that dream come true. Ann said this final wish meant the world to her.

Pamela's wish was simple — to feel the sand between her toes at Clearwater Beach one last time. Moments Hospice was honored to help make that happen. We provided a few beach essentials to make her trip extra special, including the hat she’s wearing, a beach bag, towel, chapstick, sunscreen, and a memory box to hold the precious moments from her day.
Here’s to Pamela, her unforgettable trip, and the lasting memories made with her son. 💙

We had the absolute honor of helping one of our patients, Butch Kjolstad, check off a lifelong bucket list dream at Laurels Edge in Mankato, MN. During a visit, Butch shared that one of his biggest regrets was never getting a tattoo after serving in Vietnam. So, with the help of the amazing Bianca and Ron from Black Wing Studio, we made it happen!

Butch chose an anchor to symbolize his time in the Navy, and thanks to the support of our Moments team, his dream became a reality. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this moment so special!

Today, we had the honor of celebrating Paul Krueger, a proud United States Army veteran, with a heartfelt military pinning ceremony.

Paul’s dedication to his country and his remarkable journey as a volunteer soldier were beautifully honored in this special tribute. Surrounded by his loving family, the ceremony included heartfelt moments, emotional stories, and even a group rendition of "God Bless America." The presentation of an American flag and a salute brought tears to everyone’s eyes.

We are grateful to our amazing team—Cara (CNA), Dariya (RNCM), Erin (Music Therapist), and Emily (Social Worker)—for making this ceremony so meaningful. Thank you for ensuring Paul and his family felt the respect and admiration he so greatly deserves.

"There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer." — General Jimmy Doolittle

We had the honor of presenting a special veterans box to Lionel Kjolstad, fondly known as "Butch," surrounded by his loving family—his wife Cheryl, daughter Deborah, and grandson. Alongside him were members of his dedicated Moments Hospice care team: RN Marissa, CNA Pam, Chaplain Mike, and Social Worker Vicki.

Butch shared, "This made me feel so honored and good. I'll remember this day for a long time." Moments like this remind us of the deep impact of appreciation and care.

Our Moments Hospice Sioux Falls team had the privilege of honoring veteran Robert with a bedside pinning ceremony just days before his passing. We recognized his service in the U.S. Army (April 1979 - December 1982) and his brave fight through immense challenges. With the support of our team, Robert was able to pass peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. It was a beautiful testament to the Moments Way, as we provided care, comfort, and prayer during his final moments.

Today was truly special for our Appleton, Wisconsin team as we made Jim's wish come true! Moments Hospice had the honor of taking Jim, our avid cyclist, on a memorable bike ride. With the incredible support of Lutheran Social Services' volunteer program and our amazing pilot Mike, Jim enjoyed a beautiful ride to the park for a delightful hotdog picnic. Thank you to everyone who made this heartwarming experience possible! ❤️
