STAR Foundation is delighted to announce the 2026 Scientific Campaign award of $50,000 to support the project "CNS-Directed Base Editing for Correction of the Common SLC17A5 Mutation in Free Sialic Acid Storage Disorder.”

This work will be led by Dr May Christine Malicdan of the National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH)and Dr Raymond Wang of Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).
