UPDATE: Thank you to all who completed the call to action. Your advocacy continues to make a difference for agriculture in Illinois and across the country. Stay tuned for updates as the Farm Bill moves through the legislative process.

President Nelson shared the following statement after the committee's passage:

“Illinois Farm Bureau is extremely pleased to see the House Agriculture Committee’s passage of the 2026 farm bill and thank members of the Illinois Congressional delegation for their continued support,” said IFB President Philip Nelson. "Farmers have been without the certainty of a new farm bill since it first expired in 2023, operating under a bill passed in 2018 that is not reflective of today’s world. This bill will provide much needed certainty to Illinois farmers. It will also help all Illinois families by providing access to nutrition, advancing conservation efforts and spurring innovation through agricultural research.”

Nelson added, “We look forward to the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate passing the bill and getting this critical piece of legislation to President Trump’s desk for his signature.”
