Last Friday, September 22nd, SIPBA conducted another growing season prescribed burn. This was a true partnership project. SIPBA volunteers, prescribed fire burn bosses, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, field ecologists with the Illinois Natural History Survey, Quail/Pheasants Forever, and The Nature Conservancy held the fire and guided it around this 115 acre unit for several hours to complete this prescribed burn. The Shawnee RC&D was there to document the action. Please enjoy these photos! A video of the burn will be coming soon.
