National Convention Day 1: We traveled through Louisville and enjoyed a stop and tour at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Bat Factory. Members enjoyed learning more about this sector of agriculture.

We wrapped up the day with our annual Texas Roadhouse trip.

Getting out of our comfort zones is one of our favorite things about FFA contests! Our members competed in the Ag Sales contest this week. As a chapter it has been many years since we’ve given this one a try. We are very proud of our members for stepping up to try something new! This contest includes an exam, team sales presentation, and an individual sales experience.

Varsity Team - 5th place team.

On Friday fourteen members traveled to the DuQuoin Fairgrounds to compete in the SIU horse judging contest. There were 46 schools and more than 500 members present!

Our teams held their own well!

🏅Varsity - 17th of 46 teams
🏅Junior Varsity - 14th of 44 teams

On Monday our chapter participated in the Section 25 FFA Job Interview contest. This contest consist of submitting a cover  letter, resume, completing a job application, and a follow up letter.

Congratulations to varsity team Bryson Steele and Ruby Hall for placing fourth place team. With Bryson placing as the seventh high individual of 22 participants.

Also a big congratulations to Gracie Hall and Adalyn Ryder for placing as second and third high individuals in the junior varsity contest!

This contest was incredibly competitive and we are very proud of our members for shining so brightly! Thank you to the Gallatin County FFA chapter and Legence Bank for hosting a great event.

We wrapped up the week by attending the Section 24 FFA horse judging contest. We always appreciate that they invite Section 25 schools as well. This is great practice before attending SIU horse judging in a few weeks.

🏅Varsity team placed 3rd out of 19 schools!
🏅Briley Murrow placed 3rd high individual among Section 25 schools and 4th high individual amongst ALL participants!

Nineteen members traveled to SIU this evening to sharpen their FFA skills at the Greenhand and C**t leadership conferences.

Members participated in workshops hosted by the Illinois State FFA Officers, SIU College of Agriculture students, and industry professionals.
