Arrowleaf is the human services organization in Southern Illinois best positioned to support individuals of all ages so that they can contribute to vibrant and more robust communities. That’s because only Arrowleaf:
Innovates our service offerings to best support the communities’ needs; Leads community collaboration to better support the success of each individual we work with; and Contributes to

community prosperity and tracks economic impact. Arrowleaf's Mission: Arrowleaf’s mission is to help all Southern Illinoisans reach their full potential. We provide resources and opportunities that support individuals of all ages so they can thrive, make our communities more vibrant, and build economic prosperity that benefits everyone. Arrowleaf's Vision: We envision a Southern Illinois where all individuals are contributing to a community that is safe and vibrant for everyone. Arrowleaf provides resources and opportunities that build well-being for Southern Illinoisans throughout their lives so they can reach their potential and help our communities thrive. Our work is focused on three areas essential to well-being and strong communities: Behavioral Health, Developmental Services, and Community Collaboration. Arrowleaf exists to strengthen Southern Illinois by supporting people in our region as they weather the storms that everyone faces throughout their lives. Just as buildings are better able to withstand bad weather when they have the support of a strong foundation, people are better equipped to overcome life’s challenges when they have the support of a strong foundation for well-being. Arrowleaf is here to help build that foundation by providing the wide variety of opportunities and resources necessary to build well-being for individuals throughout our region, ranging from services that equip young people with the knowledge and tools to make healthy decisions, to services that help people with developmental disabilities secure employment, to services that allow older adults to maintain independence. When everyone in Southern Illinois has access to resources and opportunities like these, well-being improves, individuals can contribute more fully to their communities, and our entire region benefits. Arrowleaf works to build and maintain well-being for individuals of all ages across Southern Illinois, regardless of their life situation. Everyone needs support to reach their potential, and the types of support we need changes throughout our lives. That’s why Arrowleaf works with Southern Illinoisans in a diverse array of areas, throughout all stages of life. For example, in childhood, we support students’ academic and emotional development; in adulthood, we help build employable skills for those living with intellectual or developmental disabilities; and in later life, we provide support for the activities of daily life so older adults can maintain their independence. How does Arrowleaf address the variety of common human needs that exist in the region? With over 25 programs, we are able to support Southern Illinoisans through a wide variety of challenges that can come up at different points in life, such as struggles with depression and anxiety, substance use, parenting, caregiving, education, employment, economic stability, navigating the demands of daily life with a disability, and maintaining independence in older age. We recognize that the challenges that exist in our communities, and the resources needed to build well-being, are always evolving. That’s why we aim to constantly expand and innovate our services and approach in response to feedback from people in our communities. When we cannot help with a specific challenge ourselves, we play an important role in connecting individuals in our region with those who can. "This Institution is an Equal Opportunity Employer & Provider."

Dixon Springs Pool & Concession is worth fighting for. 🏊‍♀️💙

This summer, over 86 days, we welcomed 7,894 visitors and hosted 26 private parties at Dixon Springs State Park Pool. Our busiest day brought 230 people through the gates.

But the number that means the most to us is 3,305 hours of opportunity. That's how many hours were worked by our student workers and Arrowleaf team members with disabilities—representing paychecks earned, skills developed, confidence gained, and meaningful opportunities to contribute.

That's why Dixon Springs Pool has to stay open.

It's more than a pool. It's affordable recreation for rural families, summer jobs for young people, employment opportunities for people with disabilities, tourism for our region, and a place where thousands of memories are made.

But this is an aging facility, and keeping it open for future generations will require continued investment and improvements.

📣 We need Southern Illinois to speak up. Contact IDNR and State Senator Jacobs 618-534-5346 and State Representative Windhorst 618-294-8703. Tell them to prioritize the improvements needed at Dixon Springs State Park and ensure this pool remains open for years to come.

7,894 visitors. 3,305 hours of opportunity. 86 days of summer memories.

We've shown that Southern Illinois uses and values this facility. Now let's make sure we don't lose it.

Share this video. Contact IDNR at 217-782-6302. Contact your legislators. Let them know Dixon Springs matters.

More than a pool. More than a summer job. This is opportunity in action. 🏊 As the 2026 season at Dixon Springs State Park Pool & Concession has come to an end, we’re proud of what happened both in and around the water this summer.

Over 86 days, Dixon Springs Pool welcomed 7,894 visitors plus 26 private parties—bringing families and visitors to our region, supporting recreation and tourism, and contributing to the local economy.

But one of the numbers we're most proud of is 3,305 hours of opportunity.

Those are the hours worked by students and Arrowleaf team members with disabilities this season—real jobs, real paychecks, real experience, and the opportunity to build skills and confidence while contributing to a place enjoyed by thousands of people.

One of those student workers, Leah Philpott of Vienna High School, worked an incredible 393.5 hours, earning the title of our 2026 Student Worker Summer Hours Champion! 👏

And while July 3 brought our largest crowd of the summer with 230 visitors, another number deserves its own recognition: 1,442 orders of nachos. Cheese, BBQ pork, sour cream, jalapeños—or none of the above—the only rule was to serve ’em hot! 😄

Managing Dixon Springs Pool and Concession for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is a great example of what Arrowleaf's mission can look like in action: creating opportunities for people, strengthening our communities, and contributing to a vibrant Southern Illinois.

To every student worker, employee, visitor, family, and community member who made this season possible—thank you for a great summer at Dixon Springs! ☀️🏊‍♀️

🌿 BIG NEWS FOR VIENNA! 🌿 Arrowleaf is excited to announce plans to renovate our property at 101 Oliver Street in Vienna into a new child care center: Little Leaves Learning Center 🍎📚🌱

This project has been a dream in the making for years, and we are thrilled to finally begin moving forward with planning, renovations, licensing discussions, and community collaboration efforts to help address the growing child care needs in our region.

Our goal is to open Little Leaves Learning Center within the next year — if not sooner!

We are proud to announce that Christie Rodgers will serve as Director of the center and help lead this exciting new initiative for our community. ❤️

Current plans include:
👶 Infant & Toddler Care
🧒 Preschool Programming
🎒 School-Age Child Care
🌿 Montessori-inspired learning elements
💙 Trauma-informed and inclusive approaches
🤝 Family support and connection to community resources

As an organization with extensive experience serving individuals with mental health needs, disabilities, and behavioral health conditions, we believe every child deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can learn and thrive.

Community survey feedback showed a strong need for additional child care options in our area, especially for infants, toddlers, working families, and before/after-school care.

We are also excited to be working collaboratively with Vienna High School, CCR&R, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as planning continues.

Even more exciting — we anticipate this project could create approximately 15–20 new jobs in Vienna as the program grows! 🌟
