A couple of things: I will be unavailable from Wednesday, August 26th through Sunday, August 30th. Memberships received in that time frame will be mailed on Monday, August 31st. If you need a range pass and key mailed to you before the 26th you need to order now so it can be mailed before I leave, the link is on our page. Please allow 7 to 10 days for mailing. Things do get lost in the mail so let me know if there's an issue. I do date when each pass is mailed and the location it's mailed from. And, if you're going hunting this fall and need to sight your rifle in, PLEASE order your pass and key now so you have them well before you go hunting. You also have the option to come to a membership meeting, which is held on the 1st Wednesday of each month to purchase your membership. The meetings start at 7:00 pm and are held at the Glyndon Rod and Gun Club. And finally, while I am gone if you need to call the Glyndon Rod and Gun Club you are invited to do so but you may have to leave a message and I'll return your call when I'm able. Thank you. Our resident shotgun shooting expert, Ken Bring, has created a new shotgun layout located to the east of the trap range. Club members are able to take advantage of this at the normal trap round fee.

The layout consists of 8 different traps arranged in a semi-circle around a single shooting station located beneath the cottonwood grove north of the clay pigeon storage shed. A round consists of three sets of eight different targets launched from different traps in varying sequences selected by the shooter using a voice activated electronic push button controller operated by the shooter. The 25th target can be a single wild card selected by the shooter. There are three suggested shooting sequences, but these can be varied by the shooter. Six of the traps are ground mounted, and two traps are located on the tower. Shots can be selected as singles, report pairs or true pairs.

This activity can accommodate groups ranging in size from individuals up to five shooters at a time. Groups of three or four make for an enjoyable outing in preparation for fall bird hunting season. Chairs are available for participants when not shooting.
This is a modified five stand concept with all shots taken from a single station with the targets originating from eight different trap locations.

Targets consist of a variety of incoming, crossing and outgoing shots and wind will provide additional variation and challenge.
This activity likely will not appeal to the competitive trap or s***t shooter. But is an excellent game to sharpen your technique for fall bird hunts since it simulates a variety of shot opportunities.
Currently there are about eight to ten people enjoying this new layout. Ken would like to promote this to the general club membership or non-members who might consider this activity as a reason to join the club.

Cost per round is $10 for 25 targets. Contact Ken at 701-238-3247 to set up a schedule to shoot or Alan Leirness at 612-741-6041 with any questions.

FYI....I've been getting so many scam/telemarketing calls, and since the Gun Club phone number rolls to my cell phone when a call comes in, if I don't recognize the number I will let the call go to voicemail. That said, if you call and get the recording YOU HAVE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. I Will get back to you as soon as humanly possible. Thank you.
