The Giving Box Update
Saturday, May 16, 2026
Happy weekend neighbors! It's your Davenport Road mad scientist, Quinton here with another update. I know I haven't posted anything in several days and I apologize for that but I have been busier than a one-legged man in a 3-legged sack race...and he's winning! ๐ฎโ๐จ

Open Daily 8 am to 8 pm
Donations for basic household goods accepted daily.
Anywho, the box is still open every day from 8 am to 8 pm. We take donations every day all day. No appointments for general visits since they are mostly self serve but we are still doing the Virtual Showroom for furniture and appliances. You WILL have to use your EMAIL to setup an appointment to OFFER/REQUEST furniture and appliances that aren't available at The Giving Box. I have not received any new OFFERS lately and I have logged a few new REQUESTS for more appliances so all I can do is wait for the universe to fill the need. If you don't want to take it to the dump then email me pictures and a description of it at: [email protected]. I am going to make a separate post tomorrow for the Virtual Showroom so stay tuned.
In the box we are getting low on just about everything now. A lot of inventory has moved here in the last few months so if you're cleaning out your closet, shed, garage or storage unit and you end up with items you don't want to trash because they're still usable then we will take it for our neighbors in need. I try not to limit what yall donate but right now let's focus on clothes for children, men and women; canned, boxed and frozen foods; bathroom medicine cabinet items like toothpaste, over-the-counter medicine for colds, allergies and pain; paper products, bath items like towels, shampoo, deodorant, etc; household cleaning and laundry items; toys and cooking items like pots, pans and utensils. Imagine you are moving into a new place with just the clothes on your back. What are the bare minimum necessities you need? That's what we're looking for at The Giving Box. ๐
I try not to encourage donations of luxury items due to the fact the box is open to the elements 24/7. Occasionally I receive radios, lamps, coffee makers, blenders, pictures in frames, knick knack shelves, decorative art and random pricey items. ๐ I struggle a little when I encounter the really expensive things because I want my neighbors to have nice things but I also want them to have what they need first. ๐ฎโ๐จ Sometimes I do liquidate luxury items into store credits so I can get what my neighbors need but not often. If you still want to bring me luxury items then understand that anyone can grab it before I do it you just do it off. Use the email system if you want to make sure I get it.

Now, that's out of the way, time for some Mad Science ๐คช๐จโ๐ฌ. I've been neck deep researching grants, EPA regulations, county laws, NIMBY and technical information on my invention that's making my head want to explode. For what it's worth, if this idea works half as well as my research indicates then we will have taken a small step towards becoming a Type 1 Civilization. VIMS, yall gonna wanna get in on this, I can almost guarantee it. ๐๐จโ๐ฌ
In a nutshell, once I finish getting 500 hours of runtime without incidents on my Prototype Model then I will have enough data to get a few grants to build the Commercial Model. My time line estimates about 2 years to get #1 up and running. Each one after that will incorporate upgrades and improvements until we perfect the technology so it can be easily replicated worldwide. Just so I'm being transparent, the entire commercial plastic reclamation module will sit on less than 1 acre of land since it is a Micro-plant and only capture 10-15% of Gloucester County's plastic waste. It will only create a few jobs in the beginning but we will eventually need at least 8 micro-plants spread across the county to capture 100% of Gloucester County's plastic waste. Here's why I'm doing it this way.
The micro-plant will produce usable products made from recycled plastic that will stay out of the waste stream almost permanently along with solid, liquid and gaseous fuels that will be used onsite to power the micro-plant's systems so it is not a drain on the power grid. Actually, when/if I can get all 6 different types of modules approved, up and running, they will be feeding power back into the grid 24/7 creating a more stable system. (Power levels to be determined after extensive testing.) I've mitigated over 80% of the worst pollutants coming from the systems and the other 20%, lesser of the evils, will be dealt with in later phases of the project depending on circumstances and other factors. Possible outcomes from simulations indicate complete campuses with all 6 modules are estimated to be significantly carbon negative. Campus design's maximum size is approximately 3 acres for all 6 modules. ๐
This isn't all about me, I will also be offering an incentive for you, a Gloucester resident, to participate. Once I get more official yes's and ok's I can divulge more info but if I can work some more magic, we will all benefit from the end results if you know what I mean๐ค. Seriously though, if you are interested in working on this project with me then understand I will insist you sign a temporary NDA until such a time that the technology and the people are ready for each other to meet and we OPEN SOURCE it to the world. Hopefully by year 10 this tech will be available worldwide to help all of our neighbors. We're all stuck on this rock called Earth so we need to make the best of it until Elon can get us to Mars. Anywho, loose lips sink ships, we unveil the tech too soon and we lose the foothold on the technology, too late and we lose trust and support from the people. I have a time line of forward progression with a lot of obstacles already overcome so a big portion of the planning has been done but not all of it, now I just need to start working the plan to progress forward.
Some of my next steps are to do more fabrication on the prototype, run, test materials produced, tweak, run, test, repeat...until I have my hours in. I can use some help if anyone wants to volunteer your skills in welding, chemistry, engineering, legal and bureaucratic red tape, transcription of notes, research and development, Public Relations and political lobbying. If you want to contribute to humanity becoming a Type 1 Civilization then we're like minded. If you don't know what I'm talking about then let's make it easy. Type 1 is no electric bill, no water bill, no trash bill, no gas bill, no more pollution being put into the environment, no food bill....because we have figured out how to use all the energy from our planet. It's not magic, it's mad science. ๐คช๐จโ๐ฌ
Alright yall, I have a lot of work to do still so keep being amazing neighbors and stay classy.
