Not only did we start seeing spotted salamanders we also saw Red-back Salamanders and a single Spring Peeper. Still a “quiet” night but hoping to hear spring sounds soon.

Spring Peepers are a native Massachusetts species that will utilized vernal ponds and other wetlands in the spring for breading season. While they are not an obligate species for vernal ponds they are commonly found (and heard) at them. 🐸

Sunday June 8 we’ll need LOTS OF VOLUNTEERs for the Cape Ann Jewish Festival at Stage Fort Park with our Snakes of New England and the World Exhibit. 1-3pm. Setup at noon. Let us know if you can Volunteer. Looks like a lot of fun!
