VURT - Visual Urban Renewal and Transformation V.U.R.T is a charitable arts organization based in New Jersey, focused on bringing inspirational mural art to local urban communities in the region.

V.U.R.T is dedicated to reclaiming the visual landscape of our urban areas with dynamic and vibrant public art. By utilizing reusable and recycled materials, we will give back to the community through green practices. If, for some reason, you managed to miss the brilliant opening for Mid Evil, an solo show, not to worry! The closing show will prove to be just as epic. Live sword fighting, free drinks, the ever-intimidating Skull Gate, and lots and lots of dope art (there’s even some that hasn’t sold yet).
Join us this Friday, November 21st at 990 Spring Garden. Mid Evil themed wardrobe is not required, but it will receive a respectful nod of acknowledgment from our crew. Leave your weapons at home, we have plenty. See you on Friday. ⚔️

Transforming the visual landscape of our surroundings is the main pillar of our mission. Painting murals is the easiest and most impactful way to make that happen. Here are a number of murals painted by one of our lead artists, , at Ralph J. Steinhauer Elementary in Maple Shade, NJ the past two summers (and one she advised, with the students being the ones to actually paint the mural).

Slide 6- Wildcat Nation- this mural was the end result of a mural program run by the school. Steinhauer’s art teacher, Mr. Brandonelli aka Mr. Z, ran a multi week class teaching a small group of students the basics of what a mural is, the steps to designing a mural, and finally, painting an actual mural. was the professional advisor at the classes and at the painting of the mural. These students got the chance to input ideas into what they wanted to see on their school’s wall AND then paint the final product (with professional supervision).

We love painting school murals. We think it’s a crucial aspect of learning and development to be surrounded by art and to learn to express yourself through art.

Our founder and Creative Director was just in Atlantic City this past week, bringing more color to their walls. This is the second mural Evan has done in Atlantic City, this new one is located at 1512 Pacific Avenue, so if you find yourself in the area, stop by and take a look. This mural is another in a series of work that Evan creates that aim to bring more attention to conservation efforts in the area, this one focusing on the New Jersey Osprey Project ( ), in affiliation with the overall initiative. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a week since the Step Outside show wrapped. It was our immense pleasure and honor to be a part of the team that made , a 75+ artist show celebrating Philadelphia street artists curated and hosted by Philly powerhouses & , happen. VURT’s mission is founded on building community within our city, and this is exactly that. Step Outside is an art show for artists, by artists. Every cent of every sale made went directly to the artists. This was truly a celebration of the Philadelphia street art scene, and we cannot wait to be a part of more projects like that. Our community is only as strong as the support we give each other. Let’s continue to build that.
