🌱 Looking to add native plants to your garden? Seeds of Change Native Plant Nursery is opening for a special Saturday sale! Fall is a great time to plant native perennials, shrubs, and trees, giving them time to establish their roots before winter.

🦋 We’ll have new plant additions and an expanded selection of Maryland Piedmont Local Ecotype plants, grown from seed hand-collected in conservation areas we manage. Look for the Local Ecotype label to find plants grown from locally sourced seed adapted to our region!

🌼 Whether you’re creating pollinator habitat, adding to an existing garden, or planning for next spring, stop by and see what’s growing!

🌿 Please join us in welcoming our newest UpLift crew members!

💚 We’re excited to welcome Gabe, Danica, Hailey, Joey, Kendall, Raen, Ruark, TJ, Tysuan, and Zack to the EcoWorks team!

🌱 UpLift is a paid, 10-month workforce development program that provides hands-on conservation field experience, professional training, and career development opportunities for adults pursuing careers in the green industry. Participants work on projects that restore local ecosystems while building the technical and leadership skills needed for long-term career success.

🌳 Through our partnership with the Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation (DSCI) and the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option, UpLift helps participants gain meaningful work experience while making a positive impact on their communities.

🌿Over the past month, our team has been training this crew with safety, tools, and best practices in conservation landscaping. The crew has also started working on certifications, such as Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional, and attending green industry exposure events, where they network, learn, and engage with industry professionals.

🤝 We’re grateful for the partnerships and support that make this program possible, including with the Maryland Department of Labor EARN program. We look forward to seeing all that our newest crew accomplishes!

While we’re not typically open on weekends, fall is a great time to plant native perennials, shrubs, and trees. Planting now gives plants time to establish their roots before winter and get a head start on the next growing season.
