Hello, everyone! As we continue working to improve PAWS of Glenwood and provide a safer, more comfortable environment for our dogs, we have several projects underway—and we could really use the help of our wonderful community.
We are working on our play yards, making repairs, redirecting rainwater from our new roofs, and preparing early for the colder winter weather. Because we are operating on a very limited budget, donations of materials—even used materials in good condition—can make a HUGE difference. Every item donated is one less thing we have to purchase and allows us to put more of our limited funds toward feeding the dogs. ❤️
We are currently looking for:
🐾 Chicken house curtains or tarp system– We would like to find a long-term solution for winter, preferably curtains/tarps that can be used with a pulley system to raise and lower them as needed. If you have curtains or tarps to donate or have experience building a curtain/pulley system and can offer advice, we would love to hear from you.
🐾CEDAR CHIPS/BEDDING for comfort & pests.
🐾STRAW BALES for warmth.
🐾 36” x 80” exterior door with frame – This is for the cabin in the play yard. The previous door was an interior door and has rotted. We are looking for one that someone may be willing to donate or sell inexpensively.
🐾 Gutters – Needed for two of our new roofs to help redirect rainwater. One roof is approximately 63 feet long and the other is approximately 42 feet long.
🐾 Three 5-foot-wide walk-through gates – Chain-link style or similar, for our dog play yards.
🐾 6-foot chain-link fencing – For building and improving our play yards.
🐾 8-foot treated 4x4 posts
🐾 Treated 2x4 lumber – Either 16-foot or 8-foot lengths
Used materials are absolutely welcome! They do not have to be new as long as they are still usable. Even if you only have one board, one gate, or a small amount of material, it helps. Every donation saves us money that can go toward another need.
We are willing to pick up donated materials within a reasonable distance, keeping fuel costs in mind.
Most importantly, THANK YOU to everyone who continues to follow, support, donate, share our posts, and encourage us along the way. We are incredibly grateful for this community. Every improvement we make is ultimately about giving the dogs in our care a better, safer place while they wait for their forever homes. 🐶❤️
