Good Morning Skate fans!

We have enjoyed the last 4 years of skating with you at The Pond. We are happy to announce we have a new baby joining the skating community in December. However with the new Baby’s arrival, and our work schedule we have decided to take a one year break from setting up the rink. We don’t feel like we will have enough time to manage the rink with the new arrival, and work commitments. We are looking forward to setting up the rink next year. Happy Holidays everyone!

Well Skate fans. We were hoping to see some favorable skating temperatures, but it looks like spring has arrived early. With 40/50 degrees in the extended forecast the rink won’t survive the next few weeks. We came home to an inch of water on the rink last night. So have decided to close down with the warm weather coming. Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed skating with us. It was an amazing year for the ice!! We hope to see you out on The Pond next season!!

Hello skate fans!! Looks like we’re going from Antarctica to Africa with temperatures over the next couple days. Come on over tonight and enjoy a perfect temperature to skate in. With above freezing temps coming we may not be open for a while.

Due to the warm weather we will be closed today.

Just a friendly reminder if you are using the rink please remind your kiddos to not play in the snowbanks on the rink or jump into the yard from the rink. We came home to find our rink perimeter lights broken from people jumping on them. Please use only the designated entrance and exit to get on and off the rink. Thank you.

We had a fantastic turn out for our first weekend being open. Thank you for coming out to Skate! We do have one request from this last weekend. Until we get a good base layer of snow on the ground we would appreciate if just skates go on the rink. Right now boots are dragging a lot of grass and mud on, which is like salting the roads for the rink. Come on over, and spread the word on The Pond. We love seeing skaters on the rink!!

Good Morning Skate Fans!!

The time is finally upon us. Tonight will be our official first night open of our 4th year!! The cold looks like it's here to stay, and the ice is nice!! So we will start running regular business hours.

A few things we'd like to remind people of when they come to skate. Please read the sign for rules, hours, and donation information!! Also follow our page as we will periodically post if we close due to warmer weather. Once it gets close to 32 the ice gets soft, and we need to close.

We would also like to remind everyone to only use the designated entrance/exit. We have lots of stakes in place that support the rink, and once the snow starts flying. They disappear quickly so we don't want people falling on top of those and getting hurt. Also please steer clear of the sides of the rink since we bank them up with snow to protect the liner!!

This year we are donating funds to the Glenwood Tennis Club as they are raising funds to build some new Tennis Courts in the City!

Happy Skating, and we hope to see you soon on The Pond!

It’s a beautiful morning!! (La la la) I think we’ll go outside and make Ice!

And with that skate fans we are officially, definitely, positively making ice! Even as The Pond is filling we are starting to see a light layer of crust developing. This is by far the earliest and most favorable conditions we’ve had since we started making the rink. If these conditions continue we anticipate we’ll be up and ready for skating in early to mid December!

We would like to give a big thank you to Blue Lake Plastics for getting the liner done in such short notice! We have used their liners the last 3 years, and they are the best in the business!
