At Community Builders, we spend a lot of time thinking about systems change: How do we improve the structures, policies, and relationships needed to help communities to thrive?
But sometimes, systems-level thinking needs to be applied to our own organization.
Earlier this month, the Community Builders team gathered in Glenwood Springs to step back from our day-to-day work and take a closer look at our own organizational systems. We found ourselves asking many of the same questions we bring to communities:
-How can we better structure our organization to support our work?
-Where do we need more capacity and how can we build it?
-How do our relationships with one another impact our ability to get things done?
Just like local communities, our impact can only go as far as the systems that support it. And, of course, we also made time for the important stuff: beer, tacos, and rafting the Colorado River!
