Meet the C.A.R.E. Collective: MacKenzie! 💙
MacKenzie's connection to C.A.R.E. has taken a lot of forms over the years. She's adopted, volunteered at events, walked shelter dogs, cleaned cat kennels, picked up donations at RJ Paddywacks, and even spent part of a Christmas holiday with her family making sure shelter pets got some extra love.
Today, she's also part of the C.A.R.E. Collective. 🫶
For MacKenzie, monthly giving is another way to keep showing up for animals, especially when life doesn't leave as much time for volunteering.
"The reality is, it's a small amount with a big impact. Any small amount helps."
That belief comes from seeing C.A.R.E.'s work firsthand. She values the way we look at the whole picture: caring for an animal's physical, mental, and emotional needs while helping set pets and their future families up for success.
And she has a couple of C.A.R.E. alumni who made that mission especially personal. 🥹
MacKenzie and her family adopted senior cat Djembe after learning he'd been surrendered late in life. They only had six months together, but those six months were filled with love, family, and the comfort of home.
Then there's Aspen, formerly Cookie, one of our "car cats" and the runt of his litter. Today, this tiny, cuddly, perpetually hungry guy is best buddies with fellow rescue cat Huckleberry and bring his family endless joy. 😻
MacKenzie told us that if she didn't have to work, she'd make volunteering at C.A.R.E. her job. 😆 Until then, we're incredibly grateful for every way she continues to show up.
Thank you, MacKenzie, for adopting, volunteering, giving monthly, and being part of the steady heartbeat at C.A.R.E.! ❤🐾
